How to Widen Your Posts in Blogger

I’m definitely NO Blogging Expert, but I’ve learned a lot in the last few weeks trying to get this blog up and running. One of the first things I wanted to do (and just finally figured it out this weekend) was widening my blog post area so a reader wouldn’t have to scroll as much. If you would like to do the same thing, this is what you do:

(Beginning with your 2 column Minima Template)

1 – Go to Layout (or go to Design then Back to Blogger)
2 - Go to Edit HTML
3 – In your HTML look for the following:

#header-wrapper {
width:1050px;
margin:0 auto 10px;
border:1px solid $bordercolor;

*Your number is probably like 660, but I changed mine to 1050

4 – Then in your HTML find:

#outer-wrapper {
width: 1050px;
margin:0 auto;
padding:10px;
text-align:$startSide;
font: $bodyfont;

*Again, the number is probably 660. I changed mine to 1050.

5 – Then in your HTML find:

#main-wrapper {
width: 750px;

*Your number is 410 or something similar, I changed mine to 750.

6 – PREVIEW it first to make sure it is how you like it, and then SAVE.

Voila! Wider posts and less background… exactly what I was looking for.
Hope this helps.:)

    So I just found your blog through the Frugal Friday party @ Shabby Nest. Cute Boy tie tutorial by the way!…but I clicked on this post and I just want to say thank you! It helped me widen my posts and I spent forever looking for a tutorial that easy. Wish I would've found this sooner! Thanks-Devry @ Team Payne
