Cupcake Liner Party Favors

Hi there. Whitney from Home Delicious here!

Today I wanted to share some really cute party favors with you. February, March and April are birthday party months around here. My almost 11 year old went a little crazy and invited 15 girls to her party. That is a lot of work for mama! Luckily, these favor packets are easy enough for her to put together herself.

Materials needed:

Cupcake wrappers

glue stick

embellishments

favors

Instructions:

1. Pull the pleats and folds out of the cupcake liners, flattening them a bit.

2.  Using glue stick, glue 1/2 of one liner to the other.  Just glue the edges and make sure you leave an opening big enough to put your treats in.

3.  Glue the embellishments on top.  I used a simple flower cut out with a heart on it.  I can imagine some darling printable from you creative ladies with a professionally printed “thank you” on it.  I love it!

4. Insert your favors.  We made some earrings, hair clips, etc. and threw in some candy for fun.

5. Glue the rest of the of the paper together, again gluing only the edges.

There you go!  A simple, easy and adorable way to hand out party favors!

Love it – Thanks, Whitney!

Wood Blocks Craft

Hello, everyone!

I’m Ginger from

Ginger Snap Crafts,

and, let me tell YOU, I am so

excited to be at Lil’ Luna today.

Kristyn is an amazingly talented lady,

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE her blog,

& I am truly honored to be here!  Yay!

Over on my blog, I LOVE sharing cute, simple & easy crafts.

When you see one of my projects, I want you to say,

“Yes! I can do that (& I can do it even better!)” ;)

I hope to share fun ideas that inspire YOU to create along with me.

Today I’d love to show you how to make

these super fun & versatile

blocks {that say a lot}.

From these 7 blocks with 4 letters on each one

you can make 15+ seasonal words!!

(I originally got the idea to make these from here.)

You’ll need the following supplies:

a 4×4 cut into 7 square blocks

(You can buy 4×4′s at

Home Depot or Lowes.)

paint & paint brushes

sand paper

*vinyl lettering

*For my vinyl lettering I used a few of my favorite fonts.

I wanted my blocks to be mismatched & kind of fun. :)

FYI: I used a different font on each block.

Fonts I used:

cafe rojo, hula skirt, ck chemistry, elise,

fontmoochers, high tower text, impervious

(All these fonts are free,

just search for them online

& they should be really easy to find.)

I slightly sanded my blocks,

and then I painted them.

FYI: I also painted each block a different color.

Thought they’d look cute like that. :)

Then I let the paint dry,

and then I applied the vinyl lettering.

For more detailed vinyl lettering instructions you can go here.

BLOCK 1- H, Y, E, D
BLOCK 2- A, C, R, S
BLOCK 3- R, P, E, T
BLOCK 4- V, N, L, O
BLOCK 5- E, O, M, D
BLOCK 6- S, M, K, I
BLOCK 7- T, F, B, W

That’s it!  Super cute & easy! :)

Here are some of the words you can spell:

Family

Blessed

Snow

Home

Harvest

Spooky

Winter

Mother

Dream

Easter

Freedom

Welcome

Friends

Faith

Hope

Monster

Can you think of any others??? :)

Pop over to my blog today,

& I’ll be sharing the tutorial on how to

make this easy {established block}

to go along with my new seasonal blocks.

They look really cute together! :)

Thank you so much for having me over, Kristyn!

Valentine’s Party Ideas from Amanda @ Shindig

I just had to show you these amazing Valentine’s Party Ideas from my good friend, Amanda, over at Shindig.
She did such a great job styling this beautiful Valentine’s Party, so I asked her if I could share it on the blog and she was happy to.
I’ll turn the time over to her now…
Hi Guys! It’s Amanda from Shindig Parties To Go here to share some sweet Valentines inspiration from a recent photo shoot I styled for Shindig’s latest Valentines Printables collection.

Valentines Day is such a wonderful time to remember that LOVE is truly what matters most. What could be better than an entire day set aside to celebrate friends and loved ones and the spirit of goodness? This year I wanted to create a stylish dessert table for Valentines that could hopefully inspire many of you to create your own Valentines displays. Using printables is such an easy way to get a party started and for this Valentines Set I wanted to create something that could work for all types of Valentines celebrations.

THE DETAILS:
When creating a party table, I usually begin by making the rounds at  the grocery store, Target, the fabric store and the Dollar Tree to gather supplies. Once I’ve got a few heart trinkets, a fabric backdrop and some cake stands everything begins to come together. The patterns from this collection are vibrant and fun, and I wanted to display them prominently using the large heart cut outs from the collection as a heart garland on the front of the table. Using tulle and silk roses (I have tons from a deal I got a few years back on silk flower garlands on clearance at Walmart) made it so simple and quick to pull together. I used the smaller heart cut outs from the printables set to sew together a heart garland for the backdrop, too.

Gumballs are a fabulous way to add color so after quick trip to Party City, I had a centerpiece. Of course, the gorgeous cookie fondant toppers from Edible Details made the centerpiece really stand out, too. Brittany is a dream to work with and always amazes me with her creativity and perfection in fondant designs!

The white, scalloped cake stands were one of my favorite shopping moments. I had just been to a little boutique in town and almost paid $130 for a set a three. And then literally, the next day I made a quick run to TJ Maxx and they had two sets for $19.99 each! I must say, I did a little happy dance right there in the store. These stands were wonderful for displaying the stunningly perfect cookies A Dozen Eggs Bake Shop created to match the printables set. When I opened the box of cookies that Laura sent me for the table I couldn’t believe my eyes at the beauty of her work! Laura’s cookies were also used on the white platter in the center of the table.

Other party treats included the sweet little mailboxes purchased in the dollar section at Target which made adorable displays for the cupcakes topped with cupcake toppers from the printables collection. Marshmallow lollipops from Walmart with a doily for embellishment were used in Target small bud vases (also found in the dollar section). Miniature candy bars covered in printable wraps were displayed on the cake stands and Valentines candy corn and other heart shaped candies were used here and there for sweet accents.

One of my favorite tricks is to use the printable papers to wrap Dollar Tree favor boxes and use them for snack cups. Here I used the pink and white stripe paper from the collection and created a sweet heart with a cupid arrow from the heart cut outs included in the printables. Filling the boxes with a popcorn and Valentines candy snack mix was an simple and quick party food, too.

The boxes used to elevate the apothecary jars filled with marshmallow hearts were covered in strips of folded over pink crepe paper streamers. This is such an easy and inexpensive way to cover any box to use for display. Just fold the crepe paper in half lengthwise, crease and hot glue around and around the box until the entire box in covered. Adding a red silk rose and red ribbon completed the look.

For the drink station I used a fun find from a thrift store to display strawberry crush bottles embellished with heart cut outs and a wrap of tulle. Pink and white stripe straws tied on with pink and white twine made these super cute. Water bottles were wrapped in printable wraps and small garlands were made for the front of the stand using small doilies folded over a piece of twine.

Individual lunch boxes were made using pink felt containers from Target and were embellished with a heart tied with twine. Each lunch included a heart shaped sandwich placed inside a sandwich pocket made from a folded doily tied with twine, a small cup of strawberries (the cup was also covered in a half of a doily), and a glassine bag filled with pretzels and tied with more twine and a sweet heart.

The printables include all that you see here and so much more! You can find them for sale for only $9.00 in my shop.

Meet Lisa: COOKIES

Hi, My name is Lisa Snyder and I am totally obsessed with cookies! It all started one day when I was watching Martha Stewart. She had a guest on her show named Sweet Dani B who decorate sugar cookies with royal icing. I was hooked! I immediately joined a Flicker group so I could share my photos with friends and family. That decision changed my life! Through Flickr, I found some of the best cookie decorators in the world. Who knew some of my best friends would be online friends? Not me! Since then, I have been able to meet many of my cookie idols and have started a blog to share some tips and tricks to help my fellow cookie creators. I hope you find something that will inspire and encourage you.

Meet Krista: PRINTABLES

I’m a young, twenty-something wife and momma.  I have always been a creative girl and can’t remember the last time I wasn’t in the middle of at least one project.  I love to travel and see new places; but, at the end of the day, there really is no place like home.  I have been married to an amazing man and my best friend for four years.  He’s the brains and know-how to all my crazy ideas.  We have two little boys who keep me on my toes.  I am lucky enough to be able to stay home with our boys, which has also given me the opportunity to work on my “Domestic Goddess” status.  I have definitely learned a lot and am grateful for the chance to make our house into a home.

I have been blogging at While He Was Napping since July 2010.  My blog has become the story of the adventure I call my life.  You’ll find recipes, home decor and crafts, things to make for and do with your kids, fashion and beauty tips, ways to keep the romance alive and, of course, printables.  I have been making digital collages and printables for over a year.  They are among some of my most popular posts and I truly enjoy creating new pieces.

Meet Ginger: CRAFTS
Hi! I’m Ginger. I blog over at Ginger Snap Crafts. I’ve got a handsome husband & 5 wonderful & very active kiddos. :)  I’ve been blogging for over 4 years over on our family blog. I loved keeping a journal of our family (& still do!), but I thought our family blog was getting a little overrun with all my craftiness. So, early last year I decided it was time to part ways & start my very own craft blog.  I’ve had so much fun! I have loved getting to know many of you & hope to get to know you even better.  I love the push blogging gives me to try a little harder & to do a little better.  I love that I’m getting projects done!  Yay! I also love to share cute, simple, inexpensive & fun projects that will inspire YOU to create along with me.

Meet Whitney: KIDS COOKING & CRAFTS
I am a mom of three, but there are usually closer to 7 or 8 kids running around my house.  I love to blog, but wanted my kids to remember more of their childhood than mom sitting at the computer, so I blog about experiences to make our home fun.  You can find me at www.homedelicious.blogspot.com

Meet Sarah: STYLE
Hi! I’m Sarah Faubus, one of two co-authors of boxwoodclippings.com (along with my sister, Emily).  I’m an English lass, married to a Californian man, living in Utah. I crave England on a daily basis, but when I’m there I miss my California King bed and Target! I earned my BFA in photography from Brigham Young University, but I hate shooting when I have to, and LOVE it when I don’t. Nothing gives me more pleasure than turning the ordinary into something beautiful (except perhaps the thrill of a great bargain)! I’m constantly redesigning and reorganizing living spaces in my head and can’t sit through a movie without being distracted by the set design. For me, any excuse is a good one for a get-together (like throwing a Super Bowl party and never watching any football). I’m a proud aunt who adores my nieces and nephews more than any aunt ever has. I eat chocolate for breakfast more than I care to admit and enjoy singing the wrong lyrics to every song (and I generally sing the loudest to Kylie Minogue or Celine Dion).
You can also find Sarah here: Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest
I am seriously jumping up and down, sooo excited to have these awesome ladies joining Lil’ Luna, and I cannot wait to see what they do this next year!!
Welcome to the Lil’ Luna fam, girls!!
