Fall Cookies in a Jar Gift + 12 Fall Printables

Can you believe that FALL is practically here?

This time of year is my absolute favorite, and it always goes back WAY too quick.

Fortunately, with each passing year, time seems to just go quicker and quicker and before I know it it’s fall again, and I love it.

As part of the Printable Club, I’m sharing with you a quick and easy gift idea that I designed a printable for. It’s a Fall Cookies in a Jar Gift. I called them “It’s Fall Y’all Cookies” just for a little Texas fun. 😉 I know these Cookie Mix Jar Gifts have been around forever but thought it would be cute to do a Fall Version. The Reeses Pieces colors are perfect for this. In case you’d rather not have Peanut Butter in the cookies, you can also use the Plain M&Ms that come in fall colors.

Here is how it turned out:

It just takes minutes to put together and can be the perfect gift for a friend or neighbor. It could even made as a Birthday Gift! Best part of all, is that it doesn’t cost a lot to make either and can be made for under $5. SWEET!

Here is what you’ll need:

– Quart Jar

– Cookie Ingredients (found below)

– Printable (found below)

– Scissors

– Twine/Ribbon

– Washi Tape

1. Clean your jars and let dry completely.

2. Fill your jars. Start with 1 1/2 cups flour, 1/2 tsp. baking soda, 1/s tsp. baking powder, 1/2 tsp. salt.

Then add 1/2 cup brown sugar followed by 1/2 cup sugar.

Then add 2/3 cup milk chocolate chips.

Top off with 2/3 cup Reeses Pieces.

3. From there you will SAVE the print/recipe tag by CLICKING on the image above and then RIGHT-CLICKING and SAVING.

Then open it in a program like word and print. It should be about 2.25 inches x 4 inches which fits the jar perfectly. I suggest printing onto cardstock so the recipe can be more durable for later use.

Tape onto your jar and then tie some twine around.

4. You can embellish the top by putting some washi tape on it. Just makes it look even cuter. 😉

Being from Texas, I of course love this!!

  2. 7

Do you know about how many cookies this jar will make?

  3. 10

I’m making these cookies right now, and the mixture is crumbly…is that the right consistency? Thanks.

  4. 11

Okay, we added another 1/4 cup of butter to the mix (for a total of 1/2 cup), and the cookies turned out perfect. 1/4 cup of butter was not enough. Mixture was crumbly instead of creamy. Cookies are delicious!

It should only use 1/4 cup butter. This is the recipe I use for my regular chocolate chip cookies, cut in half. Not sure what happened. I half the recipe all the time… I will try it out again and make any changes necessary. Thanks for the tip. :)

    • 13

      Glad it worked out!! 😀

  5. 14

Can these be made without the chocolate chips?

    • 15

Yes, they can. I would add more crushed Reeses Pieces or add Toffee Bits instead. :)

      • 16

also if i dont have a jar big enough for the whole recipe and i want to halve it, what should i put for the egg? thanks!

        • 17

Now that is a good question… not sure how to half an egg, especially because this recipe is already halved based off my regular Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe. I highly recommend finding a jar large enough and doing it as is.

  6. 19

How many cookies does this recipe make?

  7. 20

Excited to give these as gifts! Did you use all purpose flour?

A friend of mine brought me some “It’s Fall Ya’ll!” cookies (Well, in the jar. We made them right away!) and they were delicious. It made me giggle when I just stumbled across this while looking for something else!

If I were to make these in jars as gifts, how long would the mix be good for?

  11. 27

On the recipe it say 1/s tsp baking powder? Is that 1 tsp or should it be a 1/2? Thank you!

  12. 29

How much would this cost about? Thinking of doing it as a fundraiser.

  13. 31

I was wondering if the 1/2 cup brown sugar is packed?

  14. 32

I read the post that Clara posted and was wondering if you had ever tried it again and if it worked out properly with just the 1/4 cup butter. I want to give this as a gift but wanted to make sure before I gave them or tried myself.
