Jar Decor

This is a Sponsored Post for David Tutera Casual Elegance.

Moving is not fun, but do you know what is? Decorating a new home! I am having way too much fun decorating and coming up with new ideas and projects for the hubby and I. He may say otherwise, though. 😉

Fortunately, I’ve been working on some smaller crafts and decor which don’t require his help and those are his favorite kinds of house projects. This next craft I did was made using some awesome products from David Tutera’s Casual Elegance line, which is found exclusively at Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores. The Casual Elegance collection is designed and merchandised under bridal, but doesn’t have to be used only for bridal. From burlap to candy favor boxes, to lace and votive wraps the possibilities are endless with all the great creations you can make.

I wanted to make a little something to go on a shelf or desk at the house and this is what I came up with:

CUTE Jar Decorations

More than anything I love the simplicity of it all. It was easy to do and can also be very versatile depending on what color of shredded paper you use and what you write on the chalkboard labels.

Here’s what you’ll need to make it:

– Jars

– Burlap Ribbon

– Chalkboard Stake

– Hemp Twine

– Shredded Paper

– Chalk

– Scissors

1. Gather all your supplies.

2. Cut out your burlap ribbon and wrap it around your jar. Then tie a piece of hemp around it to hold it in place.

3. Write out your words on your chalkboard stakes.

4. Place shredded paper grass in your jars. I chose yellow because it’s my favorite color. :)

5. Insert your stakes.

Easy and Cute Jar Decor

How easy was that? Super cute and decorative. What I also like is that the shredded paper and chalkboard stakes can be easily changed for upcoming holidays or parties and events. Here’s a Christmas version:

These jars are too cute! I love how simple they are. I just started a craft blog, so I’m not advanced in my crafting skills (yet!). This is the type of project that is perfect for me. I love how you can change it up for different holidays, too. :)

Love this project! Went to Joanns yesterday and they did not have the chalkboard stakes in the store – they don’t even show them on line either! You were lucky to have found them. A new Joanns has recently opened near my mom, so I’m gonna go check it out this weekend, hoping they have some :)

Hmmmm, the chalkboard stakes should be there. Did you check the wedding section? Let me know if you find them! And thanks for stopping by!

Yes, I was in the wedding section where all of the David Tutera products were displayed in their own section. Hopefully I can find them this weekend.

Hi! Just wanted to give you a quick update – I did not find these chalkboard stakes anywhere locally, so I went to Joanns page on Facebook and posted a message there asking for help locating them. They were very helpful, and told me what stores in AZ carried them -nothing near me :( . They also said your local Joanns can request a store transfer from another store and they provided me with the article number for this item – 12479119. You can also call their Customer Service team to place a special order for you. They can be reached at 1-888-739-4120, M-Sat, 9am – 7pm EDT. Thought this might be helpful to other readers who might have problems locating this item too.

Thanks for the update, Sandy! SO bummed you couldn’t find them in AZ, but hopefully you’ll be able to order them and get them to make the craft. I appreciate you leaving all this information for others to find. 😀
