Office Makeover

When we first found our new house in Texas, I was so excited to have an extra room that could be my office/craft room. We had it painted yellow, and I had already moved everything in there when I realized that we should have made it a nursery instead. I mean, it’s really nice to have an office, but it’s more important (to me) to have a quiet room where the baby can sleep in peace without being woken up constantly. 😉

With that in mind, we changed the craft room to a nursery. That only lasted a few days until I realized that we needed a guest bedroom (the pics can be found HERE). Lol. I know… I’m crazy. We changed it to a Guest Bedroom and leave the crib in there so that’s where Wesley sleeps, but it’s a guest bedroom now for when company comes in town. When company is in town, we just put the baby to sleep in our bedroom in a Pak n Play – works like a charm.

Long story short, I no longer have a craft room or office, but ad so much STUFF I had to put it somewhere. Our master is quite large (which has been nice), so I convinced the hubby to let me put all my stuff in there. He agreed it was the best situation. Now, after almost a year living here in Texas, I finally took some time to organize all my junk, and it feel SOOO wonderful!!

Here is how my little space turned out:

Super cute and easy Office Makeover { }

I LOVE how it turned out??

It went from super messy, unorganized and all around “bleh” to….

Huge difference in my mind!

I had to buy these huge dressers from IKEA to hold all my craft supplies (yes, I have a ton and will post a tutorial later on how to get organized) along with the desk. I wanted everything to match the rest of the Master Bedroom which is mostly yellow, chartreuse (green-ish), gray, black and white. I didn’t have much in those colors, so we headed to Lowe’s knowing that a little spray paint and wood could help turn this into a place I could work and create at. We h

Simple but beautiful Office Makeover

Here are the details….

Today I will Create Sign

– Wood

– White Spray Paint

– Yellow Spray Paint

– Vinyl

– Spray Polyurethane

– Drop cloth

1. Begin by cutting the board the length you need. We made ours 12″ x 36″.

2. Paint your board the color you want the text to be. I did white. Let Dry.

3. Design, cut out and peel your vinyl.

FONTS USED: Parsienne for “Today I will”, Captain Howdy for “CREATE”

Place vinyl on your board.

4. Spray paint the color you want the board to be. I used yellow. Let dry.

5. When dry, peel you vinyl. Add a layer or two of Spray Polyurethane. Let dry.

6. Add hanging teeth or ribbon to hang.

I also decided to spray paint a few old pieces that weren’t being used…

 {This beauty holds all my scrapbook paper!}

I sprayed a few coats of spray paint and let dry. Then I added a layer of Spray Polyurethane which will keep it from chipping in the future.

I’m hoping this helps me with my mail problem – lol!!!

I had also made some items to help with my Craft Room and Office Organization in the past and wanted to make sure I used those in this little Office Space….

The tutorial for this Vintage Board Jar Holder can be found HERE. It’s one of my favorite pieces and definitely helps me keep all those “little” things organized!!

DIY Vinyl and Twine Holders

I HAD to put these back up because they are the best way to keep my vinyl and twine organized. The tutorial for these can be found HERE. They are an easy and inexpensive way to organize some of those great craft supplies!

Just a few more pictures… I kinda love the little “me” space I created… 😉

Great Office Makeover!
