Today I’m so excited to show you a SUPER awesome site that I just learned about.
It’s called Paint Your Own Room, the newest addition to its ColorClix suite by Olympic Paint & Stain.
ABOUT THE SITE:
- Paint Your Own Room allows the user to upload a photo of their room and preview it painted in any of the 1,200 Olympic Paint colors.
- Paint Your Own Room lets you be your own color genius.
- The ColorClix suite is a cross-platform collection of color tools allowing consumers to discover new colors anytime, anywhere – on a mobile phone, on a desktop computer or online. From initial color inspiration to final product selection and purchase, ColorClix tools digitize the paint-purchasing process from beginning to end.
Our bedroom is one of the ugliest rooms in the house and I’ve been anxious to get decorating in there but haven’t had the time to think about it. I thought it would be fun to try this program out on it.
Here is what my wall looked like BEFORE:
Using the ColorClix tools, I was able to tell the program what areas were walls, which weren’t, where the edges were, etc.
From there I could choose different colors and they would all pull up on the left-hand side and then I could just drag them over to see what they would look like…
{I’m not a blue person, but if I were this is what it would look like!}
So stinkin’ awesome, right?! I’m REALLY digging the last color. I’m thinking this green {Platinum moss} with white stenciling on top. ??
I also thought it would be fun to try a few other walls…
{Still yellow, but a lot softer which is what the hubby wanted}
And I also tried my Quote Wall…
{So maybe I wasn’t even close to considering PINK as an option but just wanted to see what it would look like}
How awesome is this tool? Don’t know about you but I’m always trying to envision what the wall will look like once it’s painted, and with this tool you can do just that!! Sweeeet!!
Best thing of all is it only takes MINUTES!! I was able to do all of this in about 20 minutes… and I was in there for awhile trying all sorts of colors!

I was going to email and tell you about the tool because I remember you making a comment in one of the classes that you were going to be painting your whole house. I think you will definitely love this site – it’s pretty sweet!
How awesome is this?! One more reason I hate living in an unpaintable apartment.
I’m sure you’ve heard this many times, but I absolutely love your decor- all the different walls are gorgeous!

Awww, thanks, Becca!! We just bought our first home last summer and it’s been so fun decorating. No worries, though, you will be in your own home before you know it and you will love being able to paint and decorate however you want!
You have just saved my sanity. I’ve been trying to figure out what colors to paint THREE rooms in our house and its been driving me mad. You can bet as soon as I get home from work, I’m gonna be on that site. THANKS!!
and Happy Friday
So glad to hear it, Laura!! I definitely think you will like this site then! It took a few minutes to understand it at first but then it is SO easy to use and super helpful!! Good luck with all your painting and have a great weekend! XO
I love your quote wall and would love to do something like that in my home. Did you make them? Order them? Please let me know. Thanks!
First great tip! We have been in our house almost a year and I’ve been too scared to paint, this will help me get over my fear! Second I love the frames your family pictures are on. Did you make them or buy them? So cute!
Thank you, Kristen!! I bought all the frames from Cut it Out. They have the best prices and you paint them yourself. Here is a link to their site: http://cutitoutalready.com/
Wow, this is great for so many reasons. I love being able to better visualize many different options and really get a feel for the room before it is actually painted. I think I will share this with my friend, she’s having professional painters in Calgary (she lives up there) coming to paint her house in the near future. She’s been going back and forth between a lot of colors. I bet she’d love this.
