This post brought to you by PULL-UPS® Night*Time. All opinions are 100% mine.
Potty training is never fun and can be a bit frustrating.
With my first, it was cake. After 3 accidents on the first day of training she was already a pro and hasn’t had an accidents since. She was obviously ready.
When it came time to potty training my son I knew things wouldn’t be as easy but I was optomistic.
We did exactly what we did with my daughter. We told him we were having a “Potty Party.” We got him so excited about it, bought him some new and fun super-hero underwear and made a Potty Training Smile Chart. The day of the big party we put him in his new undies and told him that every time he went potty on the toilet he would get a smile on his chart and would get a Starburst, his favorite candy. The first few attempts ended up in accidents, but by the end of the day he was finally getting used to it. After a good 3-4 days he finally got the hang of it and was going potty on the big boy potty, and we were thrilled!!
Night-time is a different story. It’s still been several months since we potty-trained my son but he still needs a PULL-UP®at night. Although we tried to “eliminate” the night-time sippy cup he was used to, it still didn’t matter. He would still need to use the bathroom and wouldn’t wake up to do it, like our daughter did.
Luckily, PULL-UPS® Night*Time has just released a new night time diaper that may help with this. Not only do the PULL-UPS® Night*Time Glow in the Dark Training Pants glow in the dark but they have added absorbency for total nighttime protection! They feature Cinderella for girls and Lightning McQueen and Mater from Cars for boys.

Now, the big question is… what are you tips and tricks for potty training cuz I wanna know. I need all the help I can get!!
ENJOY!

I have heard mixed reviews about using pull-ups when potty training. I would love to hear everyone’s opinion. My son will be 3 in December and has started to show more interest in using the potty. Thanks!

The idea of pull-ups is to get them used to the idea of pulling their underwear down to use the toilet and back up when they’ve finished. I think it’s a good idea as it makes them feel a bit more grown up. I certainly never had a problem with them. They worked with my girls.

I have potty trained 4 children and will be doing my 5th next summer. I also have my opinions about day time pull up usage, but night time is a MUST! Here is a link to my potty training blogposts! http://www.adoptioncreatesfamilies.com/search/label/potty%20training

My son was very hard to train as well, but one day it was like a switch and it just clicked with him. He had a couple accidents that day but we pulled the potty into the living room near his toys so he wouldn’t forget. We never bought pull ups. He wore a diaper at night for the first couple nights and stayed dry so I left him in underwear. I made sure he didn’t drink after a certain time and made him potty right before bed. He only had once accident in bed about a week after he stopped wearing diapers.
