Quote Gallery Wall

I LOVE Gallery Walls.

A few months back I decided to make a Quote Gallery Wall.

I tried to narrow down some of my favorite quotes and sayings and came up with these ones.

Quote Gallery Wall. LOVE this!! { lilluna.com }

My inspiration came from HERE.

The gallery was so easy and fun to make, especially because most of the quotes and sayings are some of my favorites and mean something to our little family. )

If you’d like to make one too, here is what you’ll need:

SUPPLIES:

-Wood – 1 ft. x 4ft. pieces sold at Lowe’s for $6

-White Spray Paint (I use Rustoleum)

-Black Spray Paint

-Vinyl

-Spray Polyurethane

-Sand Paper

-Hooks

DIRECTIONS:

1. Begin by designing, cutting and weeding the vinyl for your quotes to fit the size of boards you made.

2. Spray Paint Boards White (or whatever color you want the words to be). Let dry.

3. Add vinyl to the boards.

4. Spray Black Paint (or whatever color you want the board to be). Let dry.

5. Peel away vinyl. The vinyl letters should have worked great as stencils. I use Rustoleum Spray Enamel for the paint colors because I feel like they work really well in covering.

6. Sand to distress and spray with spray Polyurethane and let dry.

7. Add hooks and hang.

I’m hoping to be able to add more to my wall as I find more quotes I love. More than anything I love that I can see all these great quotes and sayings each day that will inspire and remind me about all the important things. :)

PS – Painted the walls a butter-y yellow, so had to redo my Vinyl Gallery Wall.

If you want to see the directions for that go HERE. :)

ENJOY!

This is just too weird. I just happened to be checking my email and saw this, right before I was going to start writing a post on the quote board I just made for my living room! Well, I guess great minds think alike. :) I love how you made them all a collage, that is a great idea! I’ll have to Pin this one. :)

I LOVE it!! Does the vinyl really work that well? I would’ve thought there’d be bleeding thru…? How awesome. I am totally making some to put in my gallery wall that’s at the top of my to do list. And “together is a wonderful place to be” is my all time favorite family quote. I have it in my family room. :)

Thanks, Dezi! I feel like it works really well because of the Rustoleum enamel. The enamel is really think and kinda sticky so the vinyl sticks so well that I’ve never had bleeding through! And so glad you like the together quote too!! :)

Love the display for which you can’t find the source. I haven’t seen that photo before, but the art is all from Red Letter Words (blog & gallery). Thanks for sharing all of your ideas & inspirations!

Not sure if this is where the idea for the quote wall came from, but I’m pretty sure the quote boards came from here:

    They are pretty pricey!!

Love this Kristyn! It’s going on my list of things to do. :)

NOt sure where the inspiration wall photo is from, but the creator of the art is, I believe, Dee from Red Letter Words. http://www.redletterwords.com/ I think those are from her “Urban Soul” from Demdaco collection. http://demdaco.com/detail.aspx?ID=24568

Nice job on your art wall!

    Hey Kristyn,
i´m from Germany and i love what you did! but i don´t understand what you mean with vinyl. where do you buy it and how does it look like. all other questions hang together with this, maybe i understand everything when you answer the first questions :)
thank you and greetings from germany.

So cute! I love it! So this may seem like an obvious question, I wanted to make some of my own sayings and wanted to know the best way to go about it?! Is it best just to play around w the words and fonts or is there a good site you have found that explains the best to do it? Also, if I don’t have a cricut yet :) is there another way to do it without vinyl?

    • 38

Hi Julie! Thanks for the kind words. Really, I just measured the wood and came up with the sayings using my vinyl cutter. There’s always the old school way of buying actual stencils, but that would be tough. I think vinyl is definitely the best way to do it. I suggest finding someone local who has a machine and having all the quotes and measurements ready to get a quote. Hope that helps. Thanks for stopping by. :)

      • 39

It does thanks! I’m trying to convince my hubby to buy me one for my birthday! Another question? How did you come up with the layout of the sayings? The font and size and everything! Did you just play around with it? Is it best to do it in Word or Photoshop? Sorry for the dumb questions, I just wanted to make personalized signs for my girls with scriptures and trying to figure out the best and easiest way. I didn’t want to waste time if someone else has figured out the best way! Thanks!

I just new I had “x” pieces of wood and went from there. Those rectangular pieces are $6 or $7 at Lowe’s/Home Depot for a 4 foot sign. I cut them in half (and the square ones in quarters) so that the rectangle signs were about $3 and the Square were about 1.50 and went from there. Then I went through and picked my FAV quotes and did it that way. It was super easy and all together cost about $20, but I also had the vinyl on hand. :)

  24. 41

Hey! Not sure about the picture itself, but I can tell you that the wall art in the pic you posted from pinterest is from redletterwords.com! Such a cute project!

  25. 43

As far as I can tell this is the original source

Yours is beautiful by the way :)

  26. 45

do you sell the vinyl words???

    • 46

Hi Raquel! Unfortunately, I do not sell the vinyl words, but I have lots of friends who do custom orders. Let me know if you are interested and shoot me an email ([email protected]) and I can send you their info. :D

  27. 47

I would love to buy a vinyl cutter/machine and wouldlike some advice….what do you use or what would you recommend. I no nothingabout vinyl but this is just so inspiring and beautiful. Well done!

    • 48

Thank you, Shirley! You are so kind! I have an industrial cutter which is large and I got it because I was doing lots of vinyl orders. For something you want to do for personal use and family and friends I would recommend the Silhouette Cameo (way over Cricut). With the Silhouette you can use any font you have downloaded which is way nice! And it’s a pretty reasonable price. Let me know if you have any other questions. XO

  28. 49

What program would one use to prepare the quotes that they would like to print.???? I have a cricut,, but I don’t know where to begin.

    • 50

I would start downloading the fonts you want to use. I like the site dafont.com and fontgarden.com the best. And then lay out your frames and figure out the sizes you need and then design the words with your Cricut. Does that make sense?

  29. 51

    Nice

  30. 52

Love this!!! Which fonts did you use for the “together is a wonderful place to be”?
