Taste the Disney Magic!

I have to say many people, including myself, go to the Magic Kingdom or Epcot to enjoy the food just as much as they go to enjoy the rides.

The food does taste MAGICAL and I have a collection of favorite dishes that will bring Disney Magic right to your own home.

Whether you are trying to create an entire Disney-themed meal or just one simple Disney dish, I have several sweet and savory recipes you can try.

Where do the recipes come from?

If you know me, you know I have turned my whole family into Disney fans. Half of the reason we love going is FOR THE FOOD!

I try new food at Disneyland Park, then test copycat recipes until I find one that tastes just like the real thing. One place you can go is Disney Parks Blog. You can also find cookbooks on the Shop Disney site.

The nice thing about my site is that I’ve already tracked down tried and true copycat recipes. So pick a recipe and turn your kitchen into a magical place.

Throwing a Disney Themed Party

Disney is a huge kingdom and covers everything from Snow White to Star Wars and the party-themed ideas are endless. Whether you’re hosting a kid’s birthday party or an adult dinner, here are a few general Disneyland-themed ideas you might like to use.

  • Red, white, and black are the signature colors of Mickey and Minnie. You can use those colors, as well as red with white polka dots, in various ways to decorate the space.
  • Line the front entrance with fun direction signs to favorite Disney spots like Radiator Springs and Toon Town
  • Have a Disney photo booth. The classic Disney castle would be a nice backdrop. If you’re feeling up to the task, use a green screen and then insert different Disney backdrops.
  • Have Mickey Mouse ears available to wear. If there are children, have a craft table where they can make their own.
  • Get your hands on some Disneyland maps and use them for placemats.
  • Have guests, young or old, come dressed as their favorite Disney characters.
  • Create a playlist of your favorite Disney movie songs.
  • Labeling your food with Disney references is a fun way to feature different Disney movies. For example, a plate of Jack Jack Num Num Cookies could have a sign that says “Num Num Cookie” (Incredibles). Place a “Drink ME” tag on the beverages (Alice in Wonderland).
  • Aside from these copycat Disney recipes, you can turn many dishes into a “Disney” dish using the infamous Mickey-shaped ears. Who hasn’t used their Bisquick mix to create a Mickey Mouse pancake?! Mickey Mouse-shaped Rice Krispies are another easy make.

Did you know? (Disney Food Trivia)

  • Unless you bring gum with you, you cannot buy gum at any Disney theme park. This helps keep the park clean and reduces the chance of stepping in or sitting on old gum.
  • Disneyland invented Doritos as a way to use stale tortilla chips.
  • To lure people in, many food places use special vents to send the smell of their food outside. You may notice certain places in Disney park always smell like certain foods. It’s because the aroma is strategically placed there through vents to get you to hunt down the savory and sweet treats.
  • Have you heard of the phrase, “When you can’t have it, the more you want it”? Well, Disney uses this idea for their secret menu. People hear “secret menu” and want those items even more. Thankfully, all the employees know how to make all their “secret” dishes.
  • At Walt Disney World alone, people eat 3,800,000 churros every year!
  • Disney chefs use 90 different kinds of cheese throughout their menu items.
  • It’s said that the very first Mickey-shaped food was pancakes.
