Fun & Festive!!
Christmas Chow is a tasty snack mix, which is a Christmas version of Puppy Chow. We made it awhile ago and the kids loved it!!
It is definitely kid friendly…both making it and eating it. My kids love to help cook in the kitchen, and this is a great recipe for them to help with. Shaking it all up is SO fun!
It’s a little different than regular Puppy Chow, just as tasty but a lot more festive. If you don’t want to make cookies this year for the big guy, you can whip up this Christmas Chow – I know he’ll like it! 😉

Variations + Storing Info
Variations:
- Instead of normal chocolate chips use Christmas colored candy melts
- Add in holiday sprinkles
- Melt the chocolate in the microwave instead of on the stovetop. In a large microwave safe bowl combine the butter, chocolate chips, peanut butter, and vanilla. Heat in small increments, stirring in between, until it is smooth and fully melted.
Allergies: One of the great things about this recipe is that it is forgiving when ingredients are adjusted. This is really great for those who have to deal with food allergies. The texture and taste may change a bit, but you can still provide a similar treat to the one other people get to enjoy all the time.
- Gluten: Chex makes gluten free cereal YAY!
- Dairy: Use a dairy free chocolate and substitute the butter with dairy free butter
- Peanuts: Other nut butters will work.
STORE this either at room temperature or in the fridge. Storing it in an airtight container helps it last for up to a week
FREEZE prepared muddy buddies in an airtight bag for up to 3 month. Let it thaw in the fridge and eat from there!
