Michaels Dream Tree Challenge

Holidays · October 18, 2013

I have some VERY exciting news for you, my friends. It’s something I’m SO excited about and have been dying to tell you all about.

I was recently asked by Michael’s to take part in their Dream Tree Challenge.

You may have seen the beautiful Christmas Trees decorated by some of my favorite blogging friends last year for this challenge. Here are some of my favorites:

Favorite Christmas Trees

Aren’t they all AMAZING?!

I remember seeing these trees as part of the Challenge last year and was beyond flattered when they asked ME to do it this year.

Michael's Christmas Decor

I can tell you now that I’ve been having so much fun buying items from Michael’s for this tree. I have a theme all picked out and just need to get crafting so I can show you guys the final project here in the next two weeks (crunch time!!)

I know Halloween has yet to come but Christmas will be here before we know it! Be sure to check out Michael’s for all your Christmas inspiration. And be sure to stop by your local Michael’s November 3 – 9th for a special tree event!

Also, I want to know:

Do you have a theme for your Christmas Tree? Even if it’s colors? If so, leave a comment and let me know!!

Time to get crafting…

Stay tuned for the final pictures. 😀

This is a sponsored post by Michaels Stores. We were provided with a tree and gift card in return for participating in this challenge. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

It bought I was the only one doing this before Halloween! Glad to see I am not. So I have a small fake tree that needed some cleanup so I took all the old ornaments, etc off of it and refluffed it and added some greenery around the trunk. It looks great! Seeing it has permanent clear and red lights I went with black and white clip on sprays, silver bulbs with 4 hand painted red bulbs. Yes I am excited about it!
The theme is black, white, silver and red. I love Christmas time!

Our main tree doesn’t really have a theme because it ends up being a hodge podge of ornaments that have been collected over the years. (Each of the kids gets a new ornament each year.) Sometimes I have done a second tree with a theme, it depends on how old our youngest tree/ornament grabber might be. I have usually done a burgundy/gold theme. More recently I’ve been collecting more of a winterish blue and white theme and we’ve had our extra tree in a corner of our master bedroom. This year I think I’ll have a nativity themed extra tree. I might actually have to buy another tree to keep our master bedroom tree, too!

Wooohoooo!!! I’d be super excited to do this too. One thing I dream of is making a garland out of metal cookie cutters. I’ve been collecting them from thrift store for years but still don’t have enough. Is Micheal’s was paying for it – I’d totally do that!

I can’t WAIT to see your tree!!!

My theme for my tree is “Let it Snow” my colors are light blue white and silver and my ornaments are everything to do with snow from sparkly snow flakes, snowmen, snow globes and icicles (may be more but I cant think of them at the moment) My lights are all LED cool white lights to make everything bright and sparkle that much more. My topper is a LED snowflake that changes color from white to blue. Love this theme!!

My whole tree every year is covered in old world glass ornaments from all over the world. With white lights of course.

I love christmas ! This si the first time that the theme of my tree is all in red and white. Could you please send me some ideas.
