Oogie Boogie Sundae recipe - topped with green whipped cream and gummy worms

Mint + Oreo Sundae – Oogie Boogie Style

We love all the seasonal treats at Walt Disney World during the fall!

One treat that you can find down at Disney Springs is the Oogie Boogie Worms N Dirt Sundae. It’s a concoction of mint chocolate chip ice cream, crushed Oreos, green whipped cream and gummy worms.

This recipe was easy to recreate and was so delicious! If you are looking to have an especially spooky night, turn on The Nightmare Before Christmas, make these sundaes and have a little party with the family. I promise these sundaes will be a hit. 😉

Ingredients for Mint Ice cream sundae

How to Make + tips

To begin this recipe, you need to have whipped cream (store bought or homemade). Add your green food coloring, mix and set aside.

From there, you will make your Sundae by layering it first with your crushed cookie crumbs, a few gummy worms and a scoop of ice cream. Continue to layer and top it off with your green whipped cream, crushed cookies and gummy worms!

recipe NOTES:

Go green: I took a trip down the frozen food section looking for more green ice cream. If you are not a fan of mint, I also saw Pistachio Almond ice cream as well as Green Tea ice cream. You can also soften vanilla ice cream, mix it with green food coloring then stick it back into the freezer to harden.

Make it more minty: Use Mint Oreos and sprinkle on chopped Andes mints

Bring on the Bugs: Aside from adding gummy worms you can find other bug candies. With it currently being October you should be able to find bug candies in the Halloween candy section.

Turn it into an Ice Cream Cake

Ice Cream Cake: Easily make an Oogie Boogie Ice Cream Cake using the same ingredients. Just use the same ingredients (you’ll need at least 6 cups of mint ice cream and a whole package of Oreos). Then, just follow these simple instructions:

  1. Line the pan with parchment paper.
  2. Press a layer of oreo crumbs in the pan then add softened mint ice cream.
  3. Freeze until solid.
  4. Remove the cake from the pan by lifting up the parchment paper.
  5. Decorate the cake with green whipped cream, gummy worms and any other oogy boogy  toppings you find
  6. Allow to soften a bit before serving.

Another great way to serve up this fun treat!

Making Ahead + Storing

MAKE AHEAD OF TIME. These fun sundaes can be assembled up to 7 days before you plan to serve them. Place sundaes in their individual cups and wrap them tightly with plastic wrap.

Remove them from the freezer about 15 minutes before serving then add gummy worms and any other bug toppings you have.

STORE. Leftovers can be stored in the same manner as long as they did not melt.
