Peanut Butter Stuffed Apple Pretzels

Peanut Butter Stuffed Apple Pretzels - CUTE! { lilluna.com } Peanut butter mixed with brown sugar & graham cracker crumbs, sandwiched between 2 pretzel twists & dipped in red candy coating!

Hi this is Dorothy from Crazy for Crust, and I’m bringing you a back-to-school idea for the teachers in your life.

Can I get a cheer for back-to-school? I know the summer flew by and all, but we are so ready for school! There gets a point after days of being lazy where you crave routines and schedules. And we’re there. Even my daughter is excited!

I always like to welcome the teachers back to a new year with a little treat. If you know me at all, or read my blog, you’ll know I like to celebrate everything with sugar, and back-to-school is no exception! Last year I made these Caramel Apple Pretzels that were a huge hit, so I decided to make them again – with a twist.

I’m all about the twist.

This new version of apple pretzels involve peanut butter. If you stop on over to Crazy for Crust at all…you’ll know I {heart} peanut butter with a capital obsessed. So of course I stuffed these with peanut butter. Peanut butter and pretzels are total BFFs.

These are super simple to make and the teachers (and kids) in your life are going to love them. Seriously, I made these in about 15 minutes, not including chilling time. If you need a last minute idea for back-to-school…this is it.

All you have to do is mix up your peanut butter mixture and sandwich it between two pretzels. Make sure to get regular twist pretzels, so they’re apple-shaped. Dip those in red candy melts and they immediately look like apples!

The perfect back-to-school treat!

1/4 cup peanut butter
2 tablespoons brown sugar
3 tablespoons graham cracker crumbs
About 30 small twist pretzels
Red Candy Melts (about 1/2 bag of Wilton candy melts)
Green sprinkles or green coated sunflower seeds for the stem

  1. Stir peanut butter, brown sugar, and graham cracker crumbs together in a small bowl. Scoop 1/2 tablespoon balls and sandwich between two twist pretzels. Chill for about 20-30 minutes.
  2. Melt your red candy melts according to package directions. Carefully dip each pretzel sandwich in the melts, coating completely. Tap off excess candy and place on a wax-paper lined cookie sheet. Top with a green sprinkle or other small green candy to represent the stem. (I used Wilton Rainbow Chips, but you can also use coated sunflower seeds, green pearls, or anything else you have on hand.) Chill until firm.

Thanks so much for reading! I hope you’ll stop by and visit me over at Crazy for Crust! Or come check me out on Facebook, Pinterest, or Instagram. I’ll ply you with sugar and talk your ear off. That’s a promise!
