How to make Pumpkin Butter

Gather all of your ingredients:

  • pumpkin puree
  • apple juice
  • ground ginger
  • ground cloves
  • sugar
  • cinnamon
  • nutmeg

In a large saucepan, combine the pumpkin puree, apple juice, sugar and spices. Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat. Use a wire whisk and stir it constantly. Reduce the heat to a simmer and cook for 30 more minutes. Make sure to stir frequently.

If you want a smoother texture, place the butter in a blender. after it’s cooked and cooled a bit.

Store in a clean airtight container and keep it in the fridge. It will last in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.

If you want more long term storage, you can seal it tightly and keep it in the freezer for 6-12 months. I recommend a plastic storage container since glass can break at extreme temperatures.
