WoCavé Mission 2 – JUNKING!

Motherhood · August 13, 2013

This Post is Brought to you by Skinny Cow.

You ready to hear all about my second mission to build my WoCavé? I can’t wait to tell you all about it.

First off, in case you missed my first mission go HERE to read all about it . And second, you might not remember or know what WoCavé  is. A WoCavé is a “women cave” or “sweet sanctuary” where ladies can kick up their heels with their friends, unwrap some ice cream sandwiches or delicious Divine Filled Chocolates and do whatever they please. It’s a place where you can be you and a place whether it be physical or mental that you can relax and enjoy time for yourself. I’ve been given three missions to help build my WoCavé and was able to complete my last mission a week and a half ago, which was to go Thrifting (or Junking) with some friends. And we were able to do this in STYLE!!

That’s right, a car came to pick up three friends and myself to check out some local shops in the Houston area in the hopes that we could find some great items to display in our WoCavé. Let me tell you – we had a blast!

We first headed to Dixieland Antiques to find some treasures.

There were so many fun things to look at and pick out! Samye was interested in this HUGE and AMAZING Railroad Crossing Sign, enlarged right here:

Too bad I think they were asking $500 for it. (Boo!) It was so awesome… I kinda wanted it for myself but couldn’t cough up $500 for it.

We also stopped by Roadside Antiques near Alvin, TX. This place has some AWESOME old doors and wood pieces. I bought a few dishes there and bought an ah-mazing old Turquoise door back in June that I can’t wait to show you.

After some Junking, we went to Panera where we sat and chatted about all sorts of fun things including our family, church, finding good doctors and dentists for our kids – ya know, the typical mommy conversations. 😉

The food was also amazing, and if you haven’t been there before I highly recommend you going!

It was so fun to relax and go out with some girls that have become great friends!

We all agreed that it was nice to have time to create our own WoCavés and spend time doing things that we enjoyed. We were especially glad that we could do this with the help of Skinny Cow and their Limited Edition Snickerdoodle Ice Cream Sandwiches, which are SOOOO good!!

These babies have only 140 calories and 2 grams of fat. Say what?! I know… the hubby and I have been enjoying these sweet and non-fattening treats at night once the kiddos are in bed (we don’t want to share – lol) while relaxing and watching a show. They are SO tasty and hit the spot when we have a sweet craving. 🙂

I also wanted to make sure you knew about the WoCavé Polyvore Contest going on – You can enter to win a $7,500 Gift Card that can help YOU build your own WoCavé.

So far, I’m having a blast with these missions and can’t wait to share the next and final mission with all of you!

In the meantime, I wanted to make sure that all you Houston/Pearland folk knew about some of my favorite Antique shops in the area so far. I know I’ve only scratched the surface with places to hit up, but here are some of my new favs:

Antique Stores in and Near Pearland, TX { lilluna.com }

Dixieland Antiques

Roadside Antiques

Browsaround Antiques

SO many great treasures to be found at these places. 🙂

The world is so small…
In my inbox today Tip Junkie sent over one of your blog entries (loved the Have a Ball Mason jar) so I add you to my Old (blog) Reader. I start reading your recent posts… and my hometown of the Land of Pears pops up.
Keep the inspiration rolling!
