Pigs in a Blanket Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 (8-ounce) can refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 8 hot dogs
  • 1 egg lightly beaten
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • sesame seeds for topping

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F. Lightly grease a baking sheet and set aside.
  • Separate crescent dough into triangles.
  • Place a hot dog at the wide end of each triangle and roll up. Place on a prepared baking sheet.
  • In a small bowl, combine egg and water. Brush egg wash over the tops of the rolls. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and press gently into rolls.
  • Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown.

Notes

Make ahead of time. Roll the crescent dough around the hot dogs and put them onto a baking sheet. Wrap with plastic wrap and store in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. When you are ready to eat them, pop them in the oven to bake as directed!
Make 'em mini. Cut puff pastry or a full sheet of crescent roll dough into 1½-inch squares. Wrap little smokies or cut pieces of hot dog in the dough, brush with egg wash, and bake as directed above.
