  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk (for a substitute, use 1/2 cup milk with 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon


  • Melt butter in a pan on low-medium heat.
  • Add sugar, buttermilk, vanilla and cinnamon and mix well and cook for a few minutes.
  • Add baking soda and stir until all combined. Mixture will get foamy and bubble up when done.
