- 2 medium green apples
- 2 cans refrigerated crescent rolls
- 3/4 cup butter melted
- 1 cup brown sugar packed
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2/3 cup Sprite or 7UP
- whipped cream optional
- caramel sauce optional
Preheat the oven to 350. Spray a 9 x 13 baking dish with cooking spray.
Peel and core the apples, and cut each apple into 8 pieces, to make 16 pieces total. Lay the crescent rolls out and place an apple slice at the bottom of each crescent roll. Roll up the dough toward the point and place seam-side down in the prepared baking dish. Repeat with the remaining crescent rolls.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Pour the butter mixture over the dumplings, covering them evenly.
Pour the sprite into the spaces between the dumplings (not directly over the dumplings) and around the sides of the pan.
Bake 33-36 minutes, or until golden brown. Let stand 15 minutes before serving.
