Chicken Parmesan Recipe

Deliciously crispy chicken parmesan is smothered in marinara and served over pasta for a restaurant-quality dish made right at home!

Ingredients

  • 3 large chicken breasts
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • ¾ cup bread crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese
  • cups marinara sauce
  • cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  • Cut the chicken breasts in half horizontally to form six thin cutlets.
  • In a shallow dish, whisk together the egg and milk. In another shallow dish, whisk together the bread crumbs, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and parmesan cheese. Dip each chicken cutlet in the egg mixture, then in the breadcrumb mixture, making sure to coat both sides with breadcrumbs.
  • Place the chicken cutlets on a greased baking sheet, and spray them with cooking spray. Bake 25-30 minutes, until browned and cooked through.
  • Spread ¼ cup of marinara sauce on each of the cutlets, then sprinkle each with ¼ cup of mozzarella cheese. Return to the oven and cook until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Serve hot over pasta or rice.
