Ham and Bean Soup Recipe

- 2 medium carrots sliced into coins
- 2 ribs celery chopped
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/2 tbsp onion minced
- 4 (15.5 oz) cans great northern beans rinsed and drained
- 4 c chicken broth low sodium
- 2 c cooked cubed ham
- 1/2 tsp minced garlic minced
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- garlic salt (with parsley flakes) to taste
- 1 bay leaf
Use butter to sauté the carrots and celery in a large sauce pan until tender.
Add onion, beans, broth, ham, garlic, pepper, garlic salt and bay leaf to the pot.
Add in the sautéed carrots and celery.
Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 15 minutes.
Remove the bay leaf before serving.
