- 2 pounds fresh green beans
- 6 strips bacon
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- garlic salt to taste
Steam green beans until tender (see Recipe Tip).
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Gather 6–10 green beans into a bundle and wrap them with 1 piece of bacon. Secure bacon with a toothpick. Repeat to make 6 bundles.
Place bundles on a greased baking sheet (or a wire rack over a foiled-lined baking sheet). Sprinkle with melted butter, brown sugar, and garlic salt.
Bake for 18–20 minutes. For extra crispiness, broil for 1 minute, then flip bundles and broil for a minute on the other side.
Make Ahead: To save a bit of time the day of your dinner you can prep these bundles through Step 4 the night before, cover, and store in the refrigerator.
To Steam Green Beans: Put green beans in a microwave-safe bowl and cover with water. Cook on high for 3 minutes, or until green beans are tender.
ASPARAGUS BUNDLES: This same recipe can be made with asparagus. Just wrap up 6–8 pieces of asparagus with 1 slice of bacon and cook for the same amount of time.
