  • Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
  • Then whisk together buttermilk and butter in another medium bowl. Add eggs in, and stir until combined.
  • Mix wet ingredients into dry ingredients and whisk until just combined, fold in vanilla. (there were still lumps). Let batter rest for 10 minutes.
  • Preheat waffle iron, then grease. Pour about ⅓-½ cup of batter into the waffle iron (or until batter reached about ½ inch to the edge of the iron). Cook until light brown. Top with syrup or other favorite toppings like berries or whip cream.
