Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
Then whisk together buttermilk and butter in another medium bowl. Add eggs in, and stir until combined.
Mix wet ingredients into dry ingredients and whisk until just combined, fold in vanilla. (there were still lumps). Let batter rest for 10 minutes.
Preheat waffle iron, then grease. Pour about ⅓-½ cup of batter into the waffle iron (or until batter reached about ½ inch to the edge of the iron). Cook until light brown. Top with syrup or other favorite toppings like berries or whip cream.
