  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • pinch salt
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans optional
  • 4 tbsp butter melted


  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon


  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree (canned pumpkin)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cups flour


  1. Preheat the oven to 350.

  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together sugar, salt, flour, spice and nuts. Add melted butter and stir until combined. Set aside.
  3. In another bowl, mix together brown sugar and spice. Set aside.
  4. To make cake, beat together oil, eggs, sugar, pumpkin, spices, salt and baking powder until smooth. Add flour and stir until smooth.
  5. Spread half of the cake batter into a greased 8x8 pan. Sprinkle brown sugar and spice filling over cake batter.
  6. Add the remaining batter on top of the filling. Use a knife to gently swirl the filling into the batter.
  7. Sprinkle on the topping and bake for 40-45 minutes.
  8. Cool slightly before serving and ENJOY!
