- 1 cup sugar
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa
- ½ cup cold water
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Whisk together the sugar and cocoa in a medium pot until all lumps are gone.
Add water and butter and turn to medium heat. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat. Bring to a simmer, stirring constantly for about 1 minute.
Remove from heat and add vanilla once the mixture is cooled. Stir until combined, place in a glass jar, and refrigerate. Reheat when ready to serve.
