- 2 puff pastry sheets
- ½ cup Nutella, or more if needed
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon water
- cinnamon/sugar
- powdered sugar
Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
Microwave Nutella for 15-20 seconds to help with spreading. Roll out 1 puff pastry sheet, top with Nutella, and spread almost to the edges. Top with the second sheet of puff pastry.
Cut dough into 1-inch strips and then fold the strip in an accordion style to be larger at the base and smaller at the top like a Christmas tree. Push through a skewer or cake pop.
Place on the prepared baking sheet and repeat with the remaining strips. Leave room on the baking sheet for trees to expand. Whisk egg and water, brush over the tops of each tree, and sprinkle with a little cinnamon and sugar.
Bake for 14-15 minutes or until golden.
Remove from oven and sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
Make ahead. Assemble the trees, cover with plastic wrap, and store them in the refrigerator for up to 2 hours before baking and serving warm.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days or freeze for 1-2 months. Reheat in the microwave until warmed through.
