Pepperoni Christmas Tree Appetizer

Flaky and bite-sized, this pepperoni Christmas tree appetizer is a 5-ingredient masterpiece that won't last long!

Ingredients

  • 2 puff pastry sheets
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 1-2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup (5-ounce) bag mini pepperoni
  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions

  • Roll out puff pastry and spread pizza sauce all over the sheet making sure to go to the edges. Sprinkle on mozzarella cheese and pepperoni.
  • Add another puff pastry sheet on top and use a sharp knife to cut into 1-inch strips.
  • Fold each strip in an accordian making one end wider than the other and poke a skewer through the tree. Place on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet and press down gently on trees to help keep their shape while baking.
  • Add egg wash to the top of the trees and bake at 350°F for 10-15 minutes. Serve warm with a dipping sauce like ranch or marinara.

Notes

Make ahead of time. Assemble the trees, cover them with plastic wrap, and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 hours before baking and serving warm.
Store. Store leftover trees in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days or freeze for 1-2 months. Reheat in the microwave until warmed through.
