Servings: 5
- 1 (8-ounce) can refrigerated crescent roll sheet
- 1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 (14-ounce) jar pizza sauce, divided
- Italian seasoning
- pizza toppings, optional
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Add foil to a baking sheet and lightly grease. Set aside.
Roll out the crescent sheet onto a lightly floured surface.
Spread ¼ - ½ cup of pizza sauce on top of the crescent sheet. Sprinkle on italianing seasoning, mozzarella cheese and pepperoni (or other toppings).
Roll up the dough lengthwise and cut with a sharp knife into 10 pieces (a little over 1 inch wide each).
Place onto the prepared baking sheet and bake for 11-13 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm with remaining pizza sauce or marinara.
For clean slices, chill the filled roll 10 to 15 minutes, then cut with a sharp serrated knife.
Leave a ½ inch border on the long edge so the seam seals and cheese stays inside.
Make ahead by assembling the roll, wrap and refrigerate up to 12 hours, then slice and bake. Add 1 to 2 extra minutes if needed.
Store leftovers in the fridge up to 3 days, reheat at 350°F for 6 to 8 minutes. Freeze baked pinwheels up to 2 months and reheat from frozen until hot.
