Today is the hubby’s birthday. He turned 29. He would probably die if he knew I was posting about him, but I don’t care – I just want to gush about how stinkin’ awesome he is. Not only is he a great father and hubby, but he’s my biggest fan, my favorite person, AND he’s my best friend in the whole world! I feel so lucky to have him FOREVER!!! Plus, he’s pretty hot, still flirts with me, and I LOVE spending time with him more than anyone!
I wanted to think of something fun to make him from me and the kids and decided to make him a Birthday Pop Box Set. I made one for Christmas and another for Valentine’s but realized I needed to make a Birthday Boy Pop Box Set too. Lo is always looking for snacks to have at his desk at work, so I thought this would be perfect! I originally saw the idea HERE a few years back and have been wanting to make some for every occasion cuz they are so easy and fun!
Here is what you’ll need if you would like to make one too:
SUPPLIES:
-IBC Cream Soda Pop Bottle Set
-Paint/Spray Paint
-Washi Tape/Scrapbook Paper
-Scissors
-Jute/Twine
-Hot Glue Gun
-Treats/Snacks
-Pop Bottle Tags
DIRECTIONS:
1. Begin by washing out your pop bottles and letting dry completely. I usually get them all ready and let them set and dry for a day or two. In AZ they dry super fast. It may take longer for you.
{the kiddos LOOOOVED helping me fill the bottles with daddy’s favorite treats – trail mix, jelly beans, whoppers, sour patch kids, sunflower seeds, and honey roasted peanuts!}
2. Fill the bottles with the receiver’s favorite goodies.
3. I’ve used scrapbook paper in the past to cover the front of the box and the bottles, but this time decided to use washi tape. It’s just so cute and I’ve been dying to use it in a project. I got my tape at Target in the stationery section for a few bucks.
4. Spray paint or paint your box. I spray painted since it’s faster. Let dry completely.
5. Then I added strips of washi tape to the front to add a nice little touch that was easy and cute.
{To save & print click HERE.}
6. From there I saved, printed and cut out my labels. The first 6 circle labels are perfect for the spouse/hubby/boyfriend set. If you want to make this for your son I suggest not using the first two circles (vintage older guy) and then using the last two circle labels that are pics of a younger boy.
I hot glued the small pics to the caps and then also hot glued a dot on the back of the bottle circles. Wanted to add a nice “guy-ish” touch and punched holes on either sides of the circles and tied them on using jute that I found at Walmart for $1.37.
7. Then I tied the jute around the tops of the bottles as well. Cute but not TOO cute – ya know?!
8. I then hot glued the front tag that goes on the box. I made tags that say:
Happy Birthday, Daddy!
Happy Birthday, Hot Stuff!
and
Happy Birthday, Son!
CUTE. EASY. and what guy doesn’t like FOOD, right?!
And for an easier version you can just leave the cream soda in and not fill it with goodies cuz I’m sure the hubby would like that too!
The hubby loved this gift, and I’m so glad he did!!
And before I end I just need to embarass my hubby one more time…
Lo – thank you for being my best friend!
Thank you for supporting me in all my crazy endeavors.
Thank you for sending me pics of you braiding and doing our daughter’s hair while I was out of town cuz it melted my heart!!
(especially considering he had never done her hair before!!)
Thank you for being my better half!
Thank you for helping me believe that together you and I can do ANYTHING!
Thank you for being so super-duper patient with me and my short comings!
And thank you for loving me unconditionally!
Can’t wait to spend eternity with you!!
Happy Birthday! XO
ENJOY!

The original idea was a Father’s Day set. I linked to it in the first paragraph.
This is so stinkin’ cute!! What a good wife you are
I might just have to steal this idea for my hubby’s b-day this summer. Love the printable tags, love the jute, love it all! Oh, and how cute is it that our husbands tried to do hair while we were at SNAP? Mine didn’t quite get the ponytails in… he slicked her hair back like a boy! But at least he tried to comb it
hahaha! Have a great weekend celebrating!

Thanks, Holly!! And isn’t it funny how guys have no clue how to do girl hair? LOL!! I kinda gave my hubby some tips and he was so proud he was able to do my oldest’s hair. He would send me pics every day while I was at SNAP – too funny!!
Awww… so mushy.
Cute! I love this. I may have to do one for my husband for Father’s Day. Although, do you do anything to help the lids stay on good? It seems like once I’ve taken them off, they’ll just fall off real easy…?
Hey, girl! Bummed I didn’t get to see you at SNAP last week – wish you could have come up!
About the lids, I just snapped them back on. I had to push really hard but they snapped back on really well – hope that helps.
XO
This is super cute!!! I love the washi tape, I need to try some!!

My husband’s birthday is in a little over a week. This is perfect for my kids to make for him. Thanks for the great idea!
You are welcome, Kimberly!! The kids loved that they could help with this gift. I may have taken over after it had taken 10 minutes to fill one bottle 1/3 the way, but still…
Thanks for the boy idea!! It seems like those aren’t as prevalent in blog land… But this is fun! Love the sunflower seeds as a treat!
