- 1 pint strawberries, chopped
- ⅓ cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Chop one pint of strawberries.
Combine strawberries, sugar, and vanilla in a saucepan. Cook on medium-high heat, stirring occasionally for about 15 minutes until juices form and the sauce thickens.
Remove from heat and puree about ½ the sauce, then mix back with the remaining strawberries. Keep refrigerated until serving.
STORE. Keep the sauce refrigerated until serving. Make sure to store it in an airtight container. I like to use mason jars with a tight lid to store ours!
Make ahead of time and store it in the fridge for 3-5 days.
FREEZE in a freezer-safe container for 6-8 months. Thaw to use whenever you're ready for tasty strawberry topping.
