Ingredients

  • 1 (8-ounce) block quality feta, drained
  • ½ cup plain Greek yogurt
  • ½ teaspoon Greek seasoning
  • 1 garlic clove, chopped
  • ¾ teaspoon grated lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • red pepper flakes, optional

Instructions

  • Add feta cheese, greek yogurt, greek seasoning, chopped garlic and lemon zest to a food processor and process until smooth. Fold in fresh dill. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  • Spoon dip into a bowl and drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle on red pepper flakes and fresh dill.

Notes

Recipe Tips.
  • Use a block of feta, not crumbles; block feta blends smoother and tastes fresher.
  • Drain the feta well so the dip stays thick and fluffy.
  • Scrape down the food processor bowl a couple of times so everything blends evenly.
  • Chill for at least 30 minutes; it thickens slightly, and the flavor gets even better.
Make ahead of time. Make-ahead tip, store covered in the fridge and drizzle with olive oil right before serving.
Store. Keep the dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Stir before serving, then drizzle with olive oil and add fresh dill or red pepper flakes.
Freeze. Not recommended, dairy-based dips can separate and turn grainy after thawing.
