Whipped Feta Dip is the kind of appetizer that feels fancy, but takes just minutes to make.

This dip is creamy, tangy, and packed with bright lemon, garlic, and dill, and is perfect served with pita chips, crackers, veggies, or even as a spread on sandwiches.

For this recipe, you blend feta with Greek yogurt which makes it smooth and fluffy. Then, you chill it for a bit which helps the flavors meld so every bite tastes fresh and DELICIOUS.

Why you’ll love it + why it works:

  • Ready in a flash! It takes just minutes in a food processor, no cooking needed.
  • Perfect for entertaining. You can make it ahead and let it chill, which makes entertaining easy.
  • Smooth and fluffy. Greek yogurt softens the feta so it blends into a creamy dip.
  • Chill time boosts flavor. Resting 30 minutes helps the garlic, lemon, and herbs meld.

Whipped Feta Dip Ingredients

  • Quality feta, drained (8 ounces): Provides the tangy, salty base and bold flavor. Draining helps the dip stay thick and creamy.
  • Plain Greek yogurt (½ cup): Makes the feta easier to blend and adds extra creaminess. It also gives a slight tang that balances the saltiness.
  • Greek seasoning (½ teaspoon): Adds quick flavor with herbs and spices. It makes the dip taste more layered and savory.
  • Garlic clove, chopped (1): Adds a punchy, savory bite. Chopping helps it blend evenly into the dip.
  • Grated lemon zest (¾ teaspoon): Adds bright citrus flavor without extra liquid. It makes the dip taste fresh and vibrant.
  • Fresh dill, chopped (1 tablespoon): Adds fresh herby flavor and gives the dip that classic Mediterranean taste.
  • Extra virgin olive oil (2 tablespoons): Adds richness and a smooth finish. Drizzling on top makes it look pretty and adds extra flavor.
  • Red pepper flakes, optional: Adds a little heat. They are a great finishing touch if you want a spicy kick.

Kristyn’s Recipe Tips

  • Use a block of feta, not crumbles; block feta blends smoother and tastes fresher.
  • Drain the feta well so the dip stays thick and fluffy.
  • Scrape down the food processor bowl a couple of times so everything blends evenly.
  • Chill for at least 30 minutes; it thickens slightly, and the flavor gets even better.
