Kristyn’s Tips for Drinks

  • How much to serve guests: A glass of punch is usually 6-8 ounces. Guests typically drink 1-2 glasses during the first hour and one for every hour after.
  • Carbonation: Carbonation in punch will only last for about an hour so keep that in mind.
  • For Hot Cocoa: The ideal temperature for cocoa is 140°F. Keep it warm in a slow cooker.
  • Ways to keep drinks cold:
    • Mix it ahead of time, but hold the ice until just before serving.
    • Punch Cubes: Instead of using ice, make a small batch of punch and freeze it in ice cube trays. As the ice melts it will add more flavor and not water down the drink.
    • Keep extra punch in the fridge or in a cooler. Fill the beverage dispenser as needed.
    • Instead of adding ice cubes, use frozen fruit.
  • Leftovers: Use leftover drinks to turn into popsicles. Just pour into popsicle molds to freeze and turn into a cold treat.
  • Use a glow stick to help stir your “potion”. Small glow sticks work great for cups. Larger, fat glow sticks can work to stir the punch bowl.
  • Add floaters Fruit, gummy candies, and colored Ice can make any drink more fun. Make sure they are large and obvious enough that someone doesn’t accidentally swallow one and choke.
  • Garnish drinks with a cherry, wedge of lemon or lime, a twist of orange, blueberries, lychees, cinnamon, cranberries, syringes of grenadine, Pumpkin Pie SpiceWhipped CreamHomemade Vanilla Ice Cream, or candy corn (even edible glitter)! Rim the glass with colored sugar!
