Ingredients

  • 2 3.29 ounce bags plain microwave popcorn
  • 1 24 ounce package vanilla bark (or candy coating)
  • 1 cup M&M’s

Instructions

  • Pop popcorn and pour it into a large bowl, removing unpopped kernels.
  • Break vanilla bark into squares and place in a medium pot over low heat. Cook, stirring constantly with a rubber spatula, until melted. Remove from the heat.
  • Pour the melted candy coating over the popcorn and gently stir until the popcorn is evenly coated.
  • Add the M&M’s and gently mix to combine. Spread the popcorn onto a parchment paper-lined baking sheet and let sit for about 15 minutes, or until the candy coating has completely hardened.

Notes

Reicpe Tips.
  • Pick through the popcorn carefully before adding the coating. Nobody wants to bite into a hard kernel!
  • Give yourself plenty of room to stir so the candy coating reaches as much popcorn as possible.
  • Keep the vanilla bark over low heat and stir constantly to prevent scorching. If it starts getting too hot, remove it from the heat and continue stirring.
  • Add the M&M’s and spread the popcorn onto the baking sheet while the coating is still melted so everything sticks together.
  • Use holiday-colored M&M’s, or swap them for mini chocolate candies, sprinkles, or seasonal candy pieces.
Store. Store white chocolate popcorn in an airtight container or zip-top bag at room temperature for up to one week. It is best enjoyed within the first few days, while the popcorn is still crunchy. Make sure the candy coating has completely hardened before storing.
Make ahead of time. Keep in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.
