If your family loves Trader Joe’s as much as ours does, here’s a fun idea for your next get-together!
We invited a group of friends over and turned dessert into a taste test. We set up a bowl at every spot on the table and put 8 taste testing spoons in each bowl. We also placed discard bowls on the table. Everyone sampled each Trader Joe’s ice cream flavor, rated it on a scale of 1–10, and then passed the pint to the left. We put everyone’s scores into a spreadsheet (Google Sheet) and averaged all of the scores to see which flavors came out on top.
Not only was it a delicious night, but it also sparked lots of debate, laughs, and a few surprising results. It turns out Trader Joe’s has some seriously incredible ice cream flavors!

Our Top 3 Favorites
🥇 1. Fudgy Cookie Dough Ice Cream
This one was the clear winner! Rich chocolate ice cream, plenty of cookie dough, and fudgy swirls made it an instant favorite with almost everyone.
🥈 2. Horchata Ice Cream (My personal favorite)
Creamy, cinnamon-y, and perfectly balanced, this flavor surprised a lot of people and quickly became one of the night’s favorites.
🥉 3. Passion Fruit Sorbet
Bright, refreshing, and packed with tropical flavor, this sorbet earned high marks for being light, fruity, and perfect for summer.
It Made the Perfect Summer Activity
One of the best parts wasn’t just discovering new favorite flavors, it was spending time together. Everyone had fun comparing notes, defending their favorites, and seeing which flavors came out on top.
If you’re looking for an easy family night, date night, or activity with friends, grab a handful of Trader Joe’s ice creams and host your own taste test. It’s simple, memorable, and (obviously) delicious.
