Washi Tape Pumpkins and Pumpkin Vase

Are you thinking about Fall, Pumpkins and Halloween yet?

I know some of you don’t even want to think about it, but it’s right around the corner in my mind. As a blogger, Halloween has been on my brain for the last month so that I can have some ideas up and ready on the blog to help inspire you this time of year.

Don’t worry, I haven’t busted out my Halloween Decor just yet, but it will be out sooner than later, and I can’t wait to decorate!! I do have a few pumpkins out that were recently sent to me from Michael’s. I thought I’d make some Pretty Pumpkin Decor with them and wanted to show you how I did it…

Easy and Pretty Pumpkin Decorations on { lilluna.com } #pumpkin

Last year I did a lot of Halloween Decor using black, white and silver and wanted to carry that over to this year. I’m happy with the results and will be showing you today how I made a Pumpkin Vase and some Washi Tape Pumpkins.

Adorable Washi Tape Pumpkins

Simple but so fun!

Polka Dot Pumpkin Vase { lilluna.com }

Pretty and festive!

Let’s begin with the Polka Dot Pumpkin Vase…

– Carveable Pumpkins (All of mine are from Michael’s)

– Drill (and 1 inch Forstner Bit)’

– Scrapbook Paper

– Scissors

– Hot Glue Gun

– Floral Foam

– Black Flowers (all stems found at Michael’s)

Pumpkin Decor - 1 Pumpkin Decor - 2

1. Use a Forstner bit to drill some holes in your pumpkin. Ours was about 1 inch, but you can do whatever size hole you’d like. You can also use a Paddle Boring Drill Bit or you can use Hole Saw Drill Bit.

2. Drill as many holes as you’d like. I placed the pumpkin between my legs to keep it stead while I drilled. :)

3. From there I spray painted my pumpkin. Let dry.

4. From there I cut out square pieces of paper and hot glued them to the inside of my pumpkin.

5. Then I prepared my black flowers by trimming the ends with some wire cutters.

Pumpkin Vase Spider

{Michael’s has some great Halloween Flowers! Found this one that had a glitter-y spider in it!!}

6. Then I added floral foam to the inside of my pumpkin and added my flowers.

Super easy, right!

And then I made some quick Washi Tape Pumpkins to go with my vase.

Cute and EASY Pumpkin Decor

1. Spray paint your pumpkin if desired and let dry. I wanted a pretty silver metallic pumpkin and painted mine. Then you add washi tape to your pumpkin. It’s that easy!

So simple yet so cool!

I LOVE how these turned out. It’s seriously the EASIEST way to jazz up some pumpkins. And best of all, you can make your pumpkins match your decor just by adding different colors of washi tape!

    Do you suggest a mask while you carve craft pumpkins?

    • 20

      It smelled while we used the hot knife but not enough where I needed a mask. I did make sure the kids weren’t around for it just because I didn’t want them near the hot knife. 😉

    The black and white pumpkins with washi tape are so pretty! This would be cute in other colours too, but keeping it black and white just has such an elevated chic feel to it! I’ve actually featured this project on my own blog as part of a craft pumpkin decorating idea roundup here: http://www.ashleypicanco.com/5-fall-decor-projects-using-craft-pumpkins/ with a link back to your site of course!

    Thanks for sharing!
