Felt Flower Hair Clips

Super CUTE and EASY Felt Flower Hair Clips on { lilluna.com } Only takes a few simple supplies!

Supplies:

Hi friends!  Today I’m sharing with you how to make these really cute and simple Felt Flower Hair Clips.  They are so cute and easy to make.  So let’s get started.

–  Felt {your choice of colors, you can use any type of felt}

–  Fabric Scissors

–  Glue Gun

–  Alligator Clips {or any type hair clip you like}

I started by cutting three strips of felt for each hair clip.  You can keep it simple and do just one flower per clip. I prefer the little clustered look of the three together.  I used felt sheets that measured 8.5 x 11″ so that’s how long my strips were {11″}.  You can buy felt by the yard is you want larger flowers.  A strip of felt that measure the 11″ will create a flower 2″ in diameter.  So for smaller flowers cut a shorter strip, make sense?  I cut my three strips in to different widths too, my largest strip I cut to almost 2″ wide, then I just tapered down the widths of the other two strips by 1/4″ each.

Next using my glue gun I placed a line of glue all the way across my felt strips longest side {only on one side at the edge}.  Then folded the other side over and glued the two edges together.  Then using my fabric scissors I cut all the way across the felt strip on the not glued edge.  I typically make my cuts 1/4″ apart, but on my smaller flowers I cut closer.

Once I finished all my cuts I grabbed my hot glue gun again and placed a small amount of glue at one end and started rolling.  Place a bead of glue all the way across the end and continue to roll your felt flower until you come to the end.

When all my flowers were rolled and ready to go I just hot glued them to a small scrap piece of felt in a cluster. You may need to place some hot glue between the flowers after you glue the bottoms down to the scrap felt. This will keep it sturdy and not floppy.  Then glue on your choice of hair clip, I prefer alligator clips.

    Wow, this looks so easy and they turned out so cute! I have been making needle-felted flower clips. They take a bit longer but are super cute too! I’ll share a tut on them on my blog soon and will link up here.
