Cookie dough bites are safe snacking with all the flavor of chocolate chip cookie dough and none of the worry!
With flavor similar to our classic Chocolate Chip Cookies and Eggless Cookie Dough, you’re sure to love these cookie dough bites.
We Love Cookie Dough!
Our whole family loves to taste the batter when making cookies, especially Chocolate Chip Cookies (we know we’re not the only ones!) 😉
Fortunately, these cookie dough bites fill that craving with no guilty dipping.
Our kids LOVE to whip up this dessert for after-school or late-night snacking! In fact, my daughter made this very batch!
Why we love it:
- Go ahead and indulge. Because this is an egg-free cookie dough, it’s a perfectly safe dessert.
- Allergy-friendly. Make them dairy-free, gluten-free, tree nut-free, and vegan. Make sure to double-check the labels.
- For favorite treats. Mix these dough balls into your homemade Vanilla Ice Cream or add them to your favorite milkshake!
Ingredients
- butter – unsalted butter or salted; or use cream cheese or softened dairy-free vegan butter
- brown sugar – light or dark brown sugar, or vegan-friendly raw cane sugar
- milk – or use a dairy-free milk
- vanilla extract
- all-purpose flour – or gluten-free 1:1 baking flour (See below to heat-treat, if desired)
- granulated sugar
- mini chocolate chips – or regular-size semi-sweet chocolate chips
Various Mix-Ins
Enhance the flavor and texture with additional ingredients. Do not add too many extras as the cookie dough may not hold together.
- chopped nuts. almonds, cashews, pecans, or walnuts
- dried fruit. shredded coconut, raisins, cranberries or chopped apricots
- chopped candy. toffee bits, Resse Peanut Butter Cups, Snickers, Butterfinger, Mini M&M’s
Quick and Easy!
- MIX. In a medium mixing bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until smooth. Add milk and vanilla and mix until well combined. Add flour and sugar. Fold in chocolate chips and mix well.
- CHILL. Roll into balls and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
Pro Tip!
If the dough seems dry and is not holding a ball shape (this may happen if you substitute the type of flour used), then add extra milk, 1 teaspoon at a time, until the mixture holds.
Recipe Tips
- Safe to eat. Cookie dough bites are egg-free. To be extra safe, use heat-treated flour. This process effectively kills potential bacteria, making the flour safe for use in no-bake recipes.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and spread the raw flour evenly on a baking sheet.
- Bake the flour for 5 minutes, then remove it from the oven and stir it to ensure even heating. Return the flour to the oven for an additional 5 minutes.
- Allow the flour to cool before using it in your recipe.
- For quicker treatment, place the raw flour in a microwave-safe bowl and heat for 1 minute. Stir and heat for 1 more minutes. Cool.
- Chocolate dipped. Shape bite-sized portions and chill in the fridge before dipping each one into melted chocolate candy coating. Place on a sheet pan covered with parchment paper to cool and set.
- Snack mix. Add cookie dough bites to Puppy Chow, Caramel Popcorn, or Trail Mix.
Storing Info
- STORE. Make edible cookie dough bites ahead of time or store leftovers the same way. Store the leftover cookie dough balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 5-7 days.
- FREEZE. Place the dough balls on a tray and freeze. Once solid, transfer them to a freezer-safe container and freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw before eating.
