These simple and delicious Slow Cooker Pork Chops are so tender and juicy and are topped with an amazing gravy that we love to serve them with.
These crock pot pork chops are one that I make frequently for Sunday dinner, because they’re simple like our Parmesan Crusted Pork Chops and Breaded Pork Chops.
We love pork chops!
We make them a few times a month and because we love them so much, we’ve been trying all different ways to make them.
We love our Parmesan Crusted Pork Chops, but wanted to try a crock pot version too. That led us to several versions in old family church cookbooks until we settled on today’s. My mom had made it several times and with her approval, we knew it would be a good one.
The recipe is very simple and makes a delicious gravy that is also phenomenal! We served our chops and gravy over some mashed potatoes, along with some veggies, and had a stellar meal. We decided this recipe would be perfect for Sundays, or any busy day.
Sear & Slow cook
As mentioned, this recipe was very simple.
SEAR. After combining the spices and some flour, you’ll dredge each chop in the mixture and sear in hot oil over the stove for a few minutes.
SLOW COOK. From there, the pork loins will go into the slow cooker along with some chicken broth. The pork chops will cook for a few hours. When they are done, you will use the meat juices make the gravy.
GRAVY. You can keep it in the slow cooker and add some flour and whisk until smooth OR you can pour the juices into a small pot and do the same. It might have a bit of meat chunks, and if you are not a fan of that, you can strain those out.
TIPS AND FAQ
Can you cook pork chops from a frozen state? Because a crockpot cooks the meat slowly thereโs a risk that bacteria may contaminate it before reaching safe cooking temperatures. Itโs safest to use thawed pork chops in a crockpot.
How can I quickly thaw frozen pork chops? If you forgot to put your frozen meat in the fridge to thaw there is an quicker alternative. Put the chops in an airtight ziploc bag and place it in a deep bowl filled with cold water. Change the water every 20-30 minutes until the chops have thawed.
How long do cooked chops keep? Leftover pork chops can be kept in an airtight container for 3-4 days in the refrigerator.
How to reheat cooked pork chops? To keep the moisture and texture reheat the chops in the oven. Using an oven safe casserole dish pour 3-4 tbsp water or broth in the bottom, place chops in the dish and cover with foil. Bake 350 degrees F for 10-15 minutes.
You can also reheat in the microwave using a similar method. Put a couple tbsp of water or broth in the bottom of a microwave safe dish, add chops, cover with a lid and heat for 1-2 minutes or until warm.
