on the Go Snack to Love!
I love to whip up a big batch of a simple trail mix recipe to take on family excursions and for on-the-go snacks and appetizers. It’s also a favorite to add to our charcuterie boards as well as airplane snack bags.
What we love most about this trail mix is that it’s customizable to include all the ingredients you love most. And it’s so easy, even the kids can make it!
More reasons why we love it:
- On the go. Trail mix is a convenient and nutritious snack for outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, or backpacking. It’s very portable!
- Healthy trail mix. Just omit the M&M’s and chocolate chips and add in dried fruits or seeds.
- Allergy-friendly. Allergy or not, simply omit or replace ingredients to your liking – use the tips below!
Our Snack Mix and classic Chex Mix Recipes are also favorites for munching!

- dried fruits. dried banana chips, apricots, cranberries, mangos, blueberries, coconut flakes

- candy chips. peanut butter chips, white chocolate chips, butterscotch chips
- other. pretzels, granola, mini marshmallows
Storage Tips
STORE. This trail mix recipe can be stored for up to 1 month in a Ziploc or other airtight container.
We like to store ours in a large jar in the pantry for kids to scoop out to add to their school lunches or to enjoy after school.
