Milky Way Caramel Cookies

It’s me – Lily again.

Last week I showed you my recipe for Milky Way Caramel Crispy Brownies. I love Milky Ways SO SO SO much so my mom and me made another Milky Way treat. These ones are called Milky Way Caramel Cookies.

They were the best cookies I ever tried. They have chocolate and caramel and Milky Ways and my secret ingredient, which I cannot tell it because it’s secret. 😉

Here are my cookies:

I made the milky way cookies- just have a few questions- I could not find carmel bits- where does your mom get them or does she cut them up? I saw toffee bits and peanut butter bits but no carmel on the baking aisle- I cut up carmel candies and I think in may work but was wondering-
also did you all cut up the milky way bites or put them in cookie dough whole? it seems to make a really big cookie-

also mine seem to be falling apart- but man are they yummy- how did you keep from the carmel being on bottom of cookie and then sticking? should I just make a cookie drop on pan and then insert a milky way and pieces of carmel??

Kim Lewis: I have seem caramel bits at Family Fare (Spartan stores) and Meijer. 1 location of Walmart has them, the other I go to does not. (baking aisle) Hopefully this helps.

Those cookies look delicious? Please tell me the purpose of the oil in the recipe? Is canola oil ok to use? Should i freeze or refridgerate the Milky Way’s before adding them to the dough? Thank you! I love your recipes.

I always use vegetable oil in the recipes which works like a charm. Also, no need to freeze the Milky Ways – they should be fine at room temp. :)

The oil helps the cookies stay soft. Instead of oil, I use vegetable shortening and that’s how you get a soft chewy cookie and not a hard crispy cookie.
