They’re GINORMOUS + Delicious!

We are big fans of M&Ms at our hoUse. They are so fun and colorful, and a perfect chocolatey snack. Nothing is better than combining these sweet coated candies with a chewy cookie base…and making it giant!

These delish cookies can’t help but bring a smile to your face. They are festive and oh so yummy. We love to shake things up by using holiday M&Ms to coordinate with the current holiday or occasion. You can also take the flavor profile up a notch by adding flavored M&Ms such as peanut butter, or my fave…almond!

The possibilities are endless, and so are the smiles. These giant morsels are sure to please the masses and brighten any day.

How to Make Giant M&M Cookies

PREP. Preheat oven to 350.

DOUGH. Mix flour, baking soda and salt in a bowl and set aside. In a separate bowl, mix butter and sugars until well combined. Add eggs and vanilla and mix well. Slowly add flour mixture to the we mixture and mix until dough forms. Use hands if needed.

(Note: Use softened butter and room temperature eggs. They’ll mix into the other ingredients more easily when they are at room temperature.)

M&M’S. Mix in 1 cup of mini M&Ms. (Note: Use seasonally colored M&Ms to coordinate with holidays or change the flavors by using different flavors of M&M to the top of the cookies. Some yummy flavors include peanut butter, mint, white chocolate.)

SCOOP. Use large cookie scoop, and make a heaping scoop of cookie dough onto your baking sheet. Top with extra mini M&Ms and regular M&Ms.

BAKE. Bake large cookies for 10-13 minutes and small cookies for 7-9 minutes or until the edges are golden. Centers should be soft and puffy. Let cool and enjoy!

Storing + Making Ahead

Make ahead dough: you can make the dough ahead of time and store it in the fridge or freezer.

  • Fridge: Roll the dough in a log and wrap it tightly with plastic wrap. Keep in the fridge for up to 5 days.
  • Freezer: you can freeze the dough in log form (wrap with plastic then skin with aluminum foil) or you can form dough balls. If you’re forming dough bake you’ll want to flash freeze them on a baking sheet belt transferring them to a freezer Ziploc. Freeze dough for up to 3 months. Allow dough to thaw a bit before baking.

Storage: store cooled cookies in an airtight container for 4-5 days. Stick a piece of white bread in the container to help keep the cookies soft and chewy. You can also freeze the baked cookies for up to 3 months.

The Giant M&M Cookies are the best cookies for any holiday or just because. They are soft and chewy and full of color. I made them this past Christmas and another time just because they sounded so good. I almost have to make two batches if I want some for another day.
