With a simple combination of some regular butter and honey, you can make a delectable homemade Honey Butter to slather on your bread, rolls, and biscuits!
This honey butter is the perfect companion to Buttermilk Biscuits, Easy Yeast Rolls, and even Buttery Corn Bread! Some people even like to melt it on top of Fried Chicken!
2 Ingredients + 1 minute
Have you ever tried honey butter before?! Some restaurants serve it with their rolls, and let me tell ya, it is GOOD. As if butter wasn’t good enough on its own, the hint of sweetness from the honey paired with the savoriness of the bread is next level.
The good news is, you can actually make this novelty from home. Even better, it only takes two ingredients (I’ll let you guess what those two ingredients might be 😉 ).
It’s basically a no brainer!! You just have to mix some butter with a little bit of honey, and in less than a couple minutes you have a delicious spread to pair with your bread, biscuits, cornbread, pancakes, and anything else your heart desires!
Of course, there is a perfect ratio of butter to honey, so keep reading. 🙂
How to Make Honey Butter
JUST MIX! All you have to do is mix the butter and honey together in a mixing bowl. Always make sure you use the correct proportions!
Be sure that you allow time for the butter to warm up enough to be spreadable. If you forgot to pull the butter out you can use the microwave, but be very careful, or you’ll end up with soup. Some microwaves have a soften function to soften the butter easily.
Ingredient Tips
Butter: MUST be room temperature so that it whips up smoothly. We used unsalted butter for this recipe, but you can use salted butter if you want. Just adjust the amount of salt you add. The better the quality the butter is, the better the final product will be. Do not use margarine.
Salt: Assuming you use unsalted butter, start with the recommended amount of salt. Beat a bit, taste, add more if you prefer. If you used salted butter beat then add salt, a little at a time, until you reach your desired taste.
Homemade Honey Butter Tips
Storage: You can store this spread in an airtight container, on the counter for a couple of days, in the fridge for at least 2 weeks, or in the freezer for up to 2 months.
Great Gift: Honey butter makes a delicious gift, especially paired with a warm loaf of bread. Place the butter in a cute jar and tie a ribbon around it. You can even roll it into a log then wrap it with wax paper. Place it in the freezer so that it’ll hold its shape.
What to use honey butter on: Spread it over any kind of breads or melt it over fried chicken! Your options are limitless.

Am I missing where it says what the recommended amount of salt is? 🧐
There is no added salt in this recipe. You could use salted butter if you want a little salt. Or use unsalted and then add some in according to your taste preference.
