Honey Butter is one of those simple recipes we love keeping in the fridge because it makes everything taste a little more special. Softened butter and honey mix together into a smooth, sweet spread thatโ€™s perfect for warm rolls, biscuits, cornbread, pancakes, waffles, and toast.

We love this for holiday dinners, breakfast boards, brunch, and anytime weโ€™re serving fresh bread. It only takes a minute to make, but it adds that sweet homemade touch everyone loves.

This honey butter is the perfect companion to Buttermilk Biscuits, Easy Yeast Rolls, and even Buttery Corn Bread!

Why you’ll love it + Why it works:

  • So easy. Made with just two simple ingredients.
  • Great for everything! Perfect for rolls, biscuits, cornbread, pancakes, waffles, and toast.
  • Make ahead! Easy to make ahead and keep in the refrigerator.
  • Softened butter mixes smoothly. Room temperature butter blends easily with honey for a creamy texture.
  • It gives the butter a sweet flavor that pairs perfectly with breads and breakfast favorites.

Honey Butter Ingredients

  • Butter, softened (ยพ cup): Creates the creamy base and rich buttery flavor.
  • Honey (ยผ cup): Adds sweetness and a smooth honey flavor.

    How to Make Honey Butter

JUST MIX! All you have to do is mix the butter and honey together in a mixing bowl. Always make sure you use the correct proportions!

Be sure that you allow time for the butter to warm up enough to be spreadable. If you forgot to pull the butter out you can use the microwave, but be very careful, or you’ll end up with soup. Some microwaves have a soften function to soften the butter easily.

    Kristyn’s Recipe Tips

    • Use softened butter so the honey blends in evenly.
    • Mix until completely smooth for the best spreadable texture.
    • Taste and add a little more honey if you like it sweeter.
    • Let refrigerated honey butter sit at room temperature for a few minutes before serving so it spreads easily.
    • Make-ahead tip: prepare honey butter a few days in advance and keep it covered in the refrigerator.
    • Great Gift: Honey butter makes a delicious gift, especially paired with a warm loaf of bread. Place the butter in a cute jar and tie a ribbon around it. You can even roll it into a log then wrap it with wax paper. Place it in the freezer so that itโ€™ll hold its shape.

Am I missing where it says what the recommended amount of salt is? ๐Ÿง

      1. Lil'Luna Team says:

There is no added salt in this recipe. You could use salted butter if you want a little salt. Or use unsalted and then add some in according to your taste preference.
