Chocolate + Mint

Hi everyone! Kara here from Creations from Kara. I am super excited to be a new contributor here at Lil Luna! Kristyn has always been one of my favorite bloggers- I love her website, and this is a dream come true!

Today I’m sharing a super simple recipe for Oreo Chocolate Mint Candy Cups. Chocolate mint just happens to be one of my all time favorite flavor combinations, and these candies turned out so yummy!

These are not only SO easy to make, but with only four ingredients, these mint candies are a cinch to whip up. The hardest part is just waiting for the chocolate to set up before you can dig in!

how to make mint chocolate candy

PREP. Line 24 mini muffin cups with paper liners. Set aside.

CANDY MELTS. Melt the candy melts and oil in a glass bowl in the microwave at half power, stirring every 30 seconds till smooth. Divide between the mini muffin cups.

OREO. Sprinkle the Oreo crumbles evenly over the melted chocolate.

ANDES MINTS. Coarsely chop the Andes mints, then melt in a glass bowl in the microwave at half power, stirring every 30 seconds till smooth. Pour over the top of the Oreo crumbs.

SET. Let sit at room temperature till hardened.

Storing + Variations

STORE these in the fridge in a covered container for up to 2 weeks. This will help them last the longest. You can choose to keep them in their liners and layer them between pieces of parchment paper

To FREEZE these you need to place them in an airtight container for up to 3 months. Let them thaw overnight in the fridge before eating.

This isn’t the best option for a make ahead recipe because you need to melt the chocolate subsequently.

Additions/Variations:

  • Top with crushed Oreos
  • Top with sprinkles
  • Do another layer of plain chocolate candy melts
  • Flavor the green candy melts with mint extract
