Halloween pudding cups
I warned you I had Halloween on the brain a few weeks ago and wanted to share with you another fun Halloween Treat idea today.
These ones are Skeleton Pudding Cups. They can be served for a Sunday treat, a party dessert or just for fun. We made ours for family night and the kids LOVED them. They thought they were so fun, and I have to agree. They are perfect for Halloween.
These bad boys only took a few minutes to throw together, and I LOVE how they turned out. They’re spooky, festive and yummy too! If you or your kids like pudding and Halloween, then I think you’ll like these Skeleton Oreo Pudding Cups too. 🙂
How to make
These were inspired by a Skeleton Garland I found at our local Dollar Tree. There are 4 on there making them .25 each.
SKELETON PREP. I cut off each skeleton and let them soak in some hot water and soap first. Then I gave them a good scrub to make sure they were nice and clean. From there, I bent them at their joints (don’t use too much force so the limbs don’t actually fall off).
OREO. Crush up some Oreos. I used the Halloween Oreos (orange filling) but you can use any (The Chocolate filled would work great too!). I scooped a few tablespoons into the bottom of each cup.
PUDDING. Make Chocolate pudding as directed on the box. Note. 1 Large Chocolate Instant Pudding Box was perfect for 4 cups.
ASSEMBLE. Fill plastic cups with a layer of Oreo, then chocolate pudding, about 1/2 way full. Plop in the skeleton and fill it with a little more pudding and crushed Oreos. Add a Mallow pumpkin for the perfect touch!
Super cute, easy Halloween pudding cups!
Variations
Aside from the delicious taste I chose to use chocolate pudding because it looks more like dirt for the skeleton to be lounging in. However, you can use other pudding flavors:
Butterscotch with heath bar crumbled on top
White chocolate pudding topped with crushed chocolate and Golden Oreos
Storing Info
STORE leftover pudding cups in the fridge. Remove the skeletons and cover each cup with plastic wrap. The pudding cups will last for about 3 days. Be aware that the moisture will cause the Oreos to become soft.
Another way to store leftovers is to make Oreo Pudding Pops. Mix the pudding with the Oreos, spoon the mixture into popsicle molds, then freeze until solid. Note: remove or crush up larger pieces of Oreos.
