Let’s be honest, we LOVE chocolate! Well, what is better than chocolate on chocolate?! These chocolate kiss cookies sure deliver.

Not only are they perfectly chocolatey, but they are easy, and whip up in only 15 minutes. These cookies make sweet gifts too. You could even top some with Hershey Hugs and send some “hugs and kisses” to brighten a day.

If you’re not as much of a chocolate fan, but you enjoy a good chocolate + peanut butter combo, you’ll probably like our Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softenedHow to Soften Butter Quickly. We used unsalted butter, but salted can be used.
  • 1½ cups sugar
  • 2 large eggs – Room temperature eggs incorporate best.
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flourHow to Measure Flour
  • ⅔ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¾ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt – Reduce or omit if using salted butter.
  • ½ cup sugar – or colored sugar or powdered sugar
  • Hershey Kisses, about 24 – Use different flavored kisses such as candy cane kisses, mint kisses, peanut butter kisses, or Hugs.

How to Make Chocolate Kiss Cookies

  1. PREP. Preheat oven to 350°F.
    • Unwrap all Hershey Kisses and set aside.
  2. BATTER. In a stand mixer with the paddle attachment, cream 1 cup butter and 1½ cups sugar. Add 2 eggs and 2 teaspoons vanilla and mix until fluffy.
    • Whisk 2 cups flour, ⅔ cup unsweetened cocoa powder, ¾ teaspoon baking soda, and ½ teaspoon salt in a separate medium bowl. Add to the creamed mixture and mix until combined.
  3. BAKE. Scoop cookies with a medium cookie scoop and roll into a ball. Roll in a bowl of ½ cup sugar to coat and place on a greased cookie sheet.
    • Bake for 8-10 minutes. Take out of the oven and immediately press 1 kiss in the center of each cookie.
    • Remove from baking sheets to cooling rack.

    Used mint truffle kisses and didn’t roll in sugar. Also made them smaller and got about 40 cookies. Amazing! We will make them again
