DECORATE. Place the chocolate covered Oreo on a piece of parchment paper and top with the holiday sprinkles.
COOL & STORE. Allow them to cool and dry completely. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
Types of Oreos: There are so many different types of Oreos from chocolate or golden Oreos, plain or peppermint flavored, thin or double stuffed. You can really use any kind that you like to make these Christmas treats.
Melting Tips
Chocolate Foot: A chocolate foot is created when excess coating pools around the base of the treat. To help prevent this allow excess coating to drip off before placing the Oreo on the parchment paper to set. If you do notice chocolate beginning to pool, use a toothpick to “cut” the pool away from the treat. If a foot has set, simply break/trim it off.
Double Broiler: A really quick way to heat you candy wafers in the microwave. You can also use a double broiler. A benefit to the double broiler is that once the candy is hot it stays melted. If you don’t have a double boiler you can easily make your own. Simply fill the bottom of a pot with 2-3 inches of water. Bring the water to a boil, then turn down the heat. Place a glass or metal bowl on top of the pot. Add the wafers to the bowl and let it melt.
Storing + More Food Treats to Gift
STORE your Christmas Oreos in an airtight container in a cool place for up to 2 weeks.
More Christmas Treats: All of these make great neighbor gifts. Just throw them on a festive plate and wrap them up nice. You could even make a variety plate with an assortment of the following treats.
