Fried Oreos are one of those fair-style treats we make when we want something fun and a little over the top, in the best way. They’re warm, crispy on the outside, soft and melty in the middle, and all you really need is Oreo cookies and a quick pancake batter.

The best part is how fast they come together once the oil is hot. Fry a batch, dust them with powdered sugar, and serve them right away. We love to make these with all the different Oreo varieties for added flavors. They’re perfect for parties, movie nights, or anytime you want a dessert that is simple yet a little “extra”.

If you love fun desserts, try Funnel Cakes, Churros, Oreo Balls, and Chocolate Lasagna.

Why you’ll love it + Why it works:

  • Fun Dessert: It feels like bringing the fair home to your kitchen.
  • Quick to Make: These cook in only a few minutes.
  • Soft Cookie Center: The Oreo softens while frying and creates a rich filling.
  • Light Batter: Pancake mix creates a fluffy coating around the cookie.

Fried Oreo Ingredients

  • Vegetable Oil (for frying + 2 teaspoons): Fries the Oreos until golden and helps create a crisp exterior.
  • Oreos (your favorite variety): Creates the rich chocolate cookie center. Use classic, double stuffed, or flavored varieties.
  • Pancake Mix (1½ cups): Creates a light and fluffy batter coating.
  • Egg (1): Helps bind the batter together.
  • Milk (1 cup): Creates a smooth batter consistency.
  • Powdered Sugar: Adds a sweet finishing touch.

Kristyn’s Recipe Tips

  • Let excess batter drip off before frying so the coating stays even.
  • Fry in small batches so the oil temperature stays consistent.
  • Flip once while frying if needed for even browning.
  • Serve warm for the best texture.
  • Enjoy alone or alongside a scoop of ice cream, or provide different dips like chocolate or caramel sauce.
