An easy, delicious Salad Dressing

A “vinaigrette salad dressing” is oil based whereas “salad dressings” are cream based and typically use mayonnaise, sour cream, yogurt, or buttermilk as the base.

This strawberry vinaigrette recipe uses a blend of olive oil and apple cider vinegar, and adds flavor with strawberries salt and pepper.

I am always searching for simple and quick salad dressings. This particular dressing can be made in under 5 minutes!

We use this dressing on so many different salads (our favorite is with our Strawberry Harvest Salad). It’s the perfect dressing for a light summer lunch or a side salad at dinner.

Even my pickiest eaters will gobble up salads with this dressing poured over the top!

How to Make Strawberry Vinaigrette

This easy strawberry vinaigrette recipe takes 5 min or less to make.

JUST BLEND! Make the dressing by blending all the ingredients in a blender or food processor.

CHILL. Refrigerate dressing until ready to serve. Add dressing to the salad right before serving.

I told you it was easy!

Dressing Uses

Strawberry vinaigrette dressing tastes great served over a green salad or a fruit salad. You can even use it as a marinade for chicken or pork.

  • Salad: Mixed green (spinach, lettuce, chard, kale). Toss in some goat cheese, feta cheese, or blue cheese, and add some sliced strawberries and slivered almonds.
  • Fruit: Use over a mixture of berries, add bananas or kiwi.
  • Marinade: Place chicken or pork in a container. Pour the vinaigrette over the top. Marinate for at least 2 hours.
  • Gift: Put the vinaigrette in a small mason jar, tie some raffia or tulle around the top and give it as a gift.

Recipe tips + Storing info

Balance the Flavor. Making your own easy strawberry vinaigrette salad dressing means you have control over the flavor.

  • If the flavor is too tart, simply add some extra honey, maple syrup, or sugar.
  • If the flavor is too sweet, then add a bit of vinegar to taste.

STORE. This strawberry salad dressing can be kept in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days.

Recipe FAQ

Can I use vinegar instead of apple cider vinegar?

Yes! White vinegar can be used instead of apple cider vinegar, but it is recommended that you add some fresh citrus juice, which will give the white vinegar a fruity flavor. This combination of white vinegar and citrus juice matches the flavor and acidic profile of apple cider vinegar.

Can frozen strawberries be used to make this vinaigrette?

Check your local farmers market for in-season fresh strawberries. Frozen strawberries may also be used for this recipe. Allow them to thaw before blending so the juices can help bind and flavor the dressing.
