Ingredients
PREP TIME: 10 minutes
COOK TIME: 20 minutes
- 2 pounds fresh green beans
- 6 strips bacon – Avoid the thick-cut bacon as it will not be able to crisp up.
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar – light or dark brown sugar
- garlic salt to taste – Add black pepper to cayenne pepper for a bit of a kick.
Green Bean Tips
- They should be vibrant in color without any visual browning or bruising, firm, and snap when bent in half.
- Choose green beans that are similar in width and length to get a more uniform cook. Trim stems or leave them on. Wash and trim the beans up to 2-3 days in advance.
- Use regular green beans or French green beans (aka haricots verts). French green beans will cook quicker.
